Spending £25m odd on Shaqiri and Simon can only mean

      - We're ready to go big for Fekir and Alisson, wanting to wrap them up asap

      - Fekir rotates between the front-3 and the mid-3

      - We'll play a lot of 4-2-3-1 and 4-2-2-2

      - Hopefully HOPEFULLY we tie up a deal for someone like Bailey or Pulisic to join next summer, with an option to bring that forward based on certain clauses

not a bad player to have in the squad, so id welcome him with open arms. altough i really hope that its Fekir AND Shaqiri, rather then only one of them.
couldnt read the whole article, but it says that the release clause is 13m. if that is the case. just trigger the release cause and its shaqiri to choose which club he wants to go to. the bitters and saints are linked aswell. so pretty confident that he is gonna choose us.
cant see why we should bid over 13m

Joyce and Melissa joining in with the updates, unlike the Simon rumors. Probably Shaqiri will happen in the next couple of days, and we do whatever it takes to wrap up Alisson and Fekir.

Hot and cold.We are going to play alot of games next season. we need somebody in the squad that can step up incase of injuries or off form.
For that money, its a low risk and i honestly cant see any down sides of shaqiri signing.

Give it an hour or 2 and he will be announced as our player.

      Putting a positive spin..

      Wijnaldum in 2016

      Robertson in 2017

      Hopefully the success repeats...

Could never quite make my mind up on him when I've seen him.

But of we get him and still our other main targets then it's probably a decent move.

      Meh.

Hope he is not an alternative to Fekir.

Hopefully Kloppo is on holiday and the work experience kid has been let loose, first Moses now Shaqiri  >:(

Always thought there was a good player in there.

I actually think he'd be a tremendous player for us with Klopp's tutelage but would be along with someone like a Fekir who looks like he'd be a step above Shaqiri.

Quality player, and decent performances 60% of the time. But more likely to go anywhere but us for guaranteed minutes.
Will be a support player for us I think.

Very good player stuck at a sh*te team. Be more then happy to sign him.

      Pros...
Price. Dirt cheap in todays market.
Ability. Technicallybgifted and good eye for a pass.
Positions. Could cover 3 maybe 4
Seasoned pro..Knows prem league and has played at big tournaments with Switzerland.

      Cons....

Is it instead of another player or as well?
What about young lads like Woodburn surely holds them.back?
And what about possibily growing the squad too.much? Last time we signed big numbers it backfired if memory serves correct?

That's because over 50% of the players Rodgers signed were total garbage.

Nothing wrong with having a big squad full of quality.

Ask City and Real. Usually results in trophies.

Shaqiri is a huge drop off in quality from Mane and Salah.
I thought we had moved away from this type of stop gap signing.

If  anything happens to our front 3 esp the wingers we need equal quality off the bench.
The CL showed just that, Shaqiri has shown himself in a sh*t team to be a lazy liability.
I could understand if his underlying numbers shouted eh it’s worth s punt.

If we are going to challenge City then Shaqiri is not going to propel us in that direction.

Luxury player not great at tracking back but certainly offensively dangerous and set pieces would be a good option off bench and used as rotation

To be honest, I very much doubt that you know anymore than the rest of us about Moses so I don’t think it’s fair to assume he’s not of good quality.

      Shaqiri, fair enough.

Bernardo Silva scored 9 and assisted 11 in his first season at City in 53 games.

With the quality we have, I would definitely put my money on Shaqiri to achieve similar numbers with us.

In other words, a valuable squad option!

What do you need to know he is almost 23 playing in a sh*t league, scored about 20 goals in over 100 apps.
