This is my 9th world cup to watch. Honestly I think the overall skill level of players has dropped. An awful lot of workhorses involved in teams.

Standard of goal keeping certainly dropped. Players are fitter no doubt but technically inferior

Totally agree, teams with very regimented systems with little creativity playing safety first football

I actually disagree. I’m seeing teams that are able to play with the big boys in part because most of their players are very technically proficient. I think what you are seeing is a lack of creativity by some managers.

Was starting to think "he's older than me" and then stopped and counted and realized this is my 10th. Getting old here. Agree game is less technical, much more athletic-based than it once was.

Seeing Ahmed Musa take those goals today was the first time in this tournament someone made me think, maybe he could be an option.

It would be as a backup of course and as he's under contract to Leicester, my guess is the price would be inflated. Doesn't look like he's set the world on fire in his career, but I'm just going by those two goals today. took them well,

Probably as much in it as every other transfer thought this summer. I just miss the season, miss avid discussion on here  and miss a lot of things at the moment.

Shocked he found the net with both his chances! He was awful for Leicester.

KDB is magnificent to watch. Utterly brilliant and makes it look effortless.

Lozano, I agree, has been immense for Mexico in the two games I've seen.  His pressing would be suit us.

Draxler looks set to be playing in a 10ish position tonight. Good opportunity to see if he'd be a viable alternative to Fekir or not

      His teeth did, at least.

Interested to see if a European club tries to sign the South Korean goalkeeper. He's looked quite good. No, I don't think we will.

Commentator said that in a sh*t club side he still managed to be named keeper of the season in the K League.

      Looked decent, too.

Son HM would be a great bench option for us.

If cheap enough we will, for the commercial opportunities that lie ahead in the Korean market!

      Draxler is crap.

No surprise he was subbed off at half time.

I’d love to see what Jürgen could do to Loftus-Cheek’s game. He has all the tools to be very good.

This Henderson fella running the show, too.

Both games I've watched him play in this WC he looked very bad indeed. He was played down the middle to start the game yesterday and he didn't show any kind of creativity either in tight spaces or even when the pitch was a bit more clear in front of him.

You can't even bring up the excuse of the final third being completely overcrowded and shut by Mexico and Sweden to excuse his bad game because Werner was moved to the LW position (Draxler's main position in both games) and he basically assisted the first goal and won the free-kick that won Germany the game.

Another thing I noticed is that he seems to be really slow he for a winger.
