Needs a fresh start. He'd do well at Rangers and be a hero there but not sure if he'd like to drop down to the Scottish PL

No surprise he wants to go really.

Danny won't get playing time here so a move to another club makes sense as he will be a good mid table team striker.

How much is Danny worth in today's market?

Surely £15 mill at a minimum.

Best for both parties as he needs a fresh start somewhere else after 3 straight seasons of being hurt and trying to fight back into the squad and given there will be a few clubs interested in him it is cash that can be used else where to improve the squad.

If that to be honest. He’s played next to no football for the last 2-3 years and only has 2 years left on a relatively low paying contract, I think we’d do very well if we get 15 for him.

Ultimately he’s no where near good enough to be a starter for us, he showed towards the end of the season too that he can’t really be relied upon to add good cover either. A move will do him good, he’s a player I like so would like to see him go elsewhere and do well, the guy deserves a good shot at it after his nightmare of a time with us. Could see him doing well somewhere like Bournemouth.

He can score goals in the PL.

The Scottish league is 1 Championship team and the rest are of a League 1 or worse standard.

Cause he's had feck all of it at Liverpool tbh with injuries.
Deserves a chance of regular football as a starter, interesting to see where he ends up.
      15-20mill possibly.

I think get handful of mid-level to bottom half clubs like Newcastle, Southampton, West Ham, Palace or even Burnley who would take a chance. I guess it hindsight we should of sold him in 2016 when teams we supposedly offering 20m for him despite being hurt all season but I would think today market range we could get range of 10m-15m for him.

I was very pleased to see him score against West Brom - you don’t every day see that type of satisfaction and emotion on a player’s face.

Best of luck to him wherever he goes, just not ever against us!

Not sure we are getting a better backup in this window.
Due to competition for places as a backup, we were always going to get rid of Ings or Solanke.
I don't think Ings is all that bad, I'd rather have kept him and loaned out Solanke.
Selling Ings and keeping Solanke does make better sense business wise.
Lallana will probably see out his contract and be available is a backup on either wing.
Woodburn will push for a spot. I would imagine the last spot will be between Markovic or Origi.
Personally I think Origi will go and we can give Markovic a chance.
I could be talking complete crap and we go out and sign a quality backup, but think we will sell a few players to off set the cost of purchases before spending more.
If we get 15m for Ings, we already had 12 for Ward and we can get another 15 for Origi... that's 42m.. Fabinho cost that much.

Great lad, great attitude and the best of luck to him. He was always up against competition in an ever-strengthening squad, but it would have been difficult for him to get much game let alone starts this season - injury record or not. Would happily shake his hand and wish him all the best.

Good luck to Ings. Good guy all around from everything you hear and wish him well.

Being on loan this season means he can't play against us, right?

Wouldn't be surprised if they've waived that given that it's a prelude to a permanent deal - but maybe you are right.

BTW, what a lovely tribute from Klopp to Danny. Who wouldn't want to play for our manager?

Best of luck to him but can some one please explain this deal to me, a loan that turns into a transfer, why don't they just buy him now?
I think its a sh*t deal for us because what happens if he gets injured again or if he has a great season and his value sky rockets, are Southampton obligated to sign him next summer whatever happens?

He’s not a 20mill player, never will be. They have to sign him next season regardless what happens, even if he’s out all season with an injury, they have to sign him. Struggling to see how this is a bad deal for us. He wouldn’t have really offered us much and we will be getting a good fee for him.
