Pat Nevin going crazy on BBC

"Not only have they done it but they have done it with a team that's missing 10 players, world-class players, with a stand-in manager, who's adapted and changed and played tactics that you wouldn't have considered."

10 World Class Players in that Utd squad? I count one. De Gea. At a push.. Pogba.

      TEN?!  :o
In fairness I think rashford is going to get better & better.

Back to the Fergie donations to the Refs charity funds!

Which wouldn't touch the funds PSG and their child slavery oil money are capable of mustering.

That wasn't a pen but it shocked me to see the referee actually give it.

F**k PSG they aren't a proper club anyway. Along with City pretty much killing the game and they've only just started.

Yep & not to mention the most arrogant tw*ts ever,They went into that game expecting a walk in the park and got beat  so I can’t feel any sympathy for them at all.

Happy united are through, a much easier game to play than PSG in the quarter finals, I am all for it!

Let's win our away game against Bayern first! Certainly won't be favourites.

Serious note I’m starting to think VAR is a bad choice.

Serious note I’m starting to think VAR is a bad choice.

I said it during the World Cup.

VAR just enables the officials to apply their own bias. Another opportunity to review the incident and favour one or the other.

The defender was even moving his arm away from the ball. Turned his back. Did everything to get his arm out of the way. No intent.

All the talk of heroics. Sure, they would have won 2-1 great.. but the true result would have been Utd out 3-2 on aggregate. Now because of a corrupt decision to award a penalty, Utd are victors. Ole a hero. The ref may as well have kicked that in the goal himself. It changes nothing as far as I'm concerned.

I'm still a believer we're not good enough this year, just enjoying the bounce factor and bubble yet to burst. This gets Ole the job for me even though my preference has always been Poch.

I don't know what it is but in the CL I am always quietly confident we will do well, the underdog tag has always suited us so let us not be favorites.

No doubt it will be a difficult game but if we can get past Bayern then there is no other team I fear left in the competition after Madrid going out.

Would love all four English teams to be involved in the CL quarters, could you imagine if it was an all English semi-final affair.

Definitely gets the job. Poch was never going to take it.

Guess it's good news regardless, because Ole is not what he is made out to be. The bubble will burst. Hopefully before then, Ole is appointed Manager, and we can watch the cycle continue next season.  :f_whistle:

Tottal agree as still humans making the call. Whilst that happens there will always be mistakes. Will be interesting to hear LFC across the waters comments on VAR.  ;D

Watching the Porto/Roma game in ET, a 4th sub is now allowed could a player having been taken off for tactical reasons say in the 89th minute be re introduced in the 119th in order too take a potential penalty in the shootout?

If we didn't already have a brilliant left back then I wouldn't mind us going after Alex Telles, he's excellent.

I can only hope we're both wrong. Ole doing remarkable job considering he's only just learning his trade yet given one of the biggest challenges in world football.

If he's doing this now what will he be like with a few more years under his belt??

What makes yo think like that? I think he is going to be great for them. You don't really need to be a tactical genius to lead a team. And please don't tell me "he has not won anything as a manager yet", because everyone needs to start somewhere.

Mbappe could have killed the tie off but he was awful all game. Fine example though that VAR still leads to sh*t decisions by the officials. Never in a million years was that a penalty, can’t believe the ex Mancs on BT sport were even saying it wasn’t.

The PSG’s & Citeh’s have no history in eropean football other than being financed by the Gulf states.. they just don’t know how to win it.. they can throw all the $$$$’s but they always face a old European royalty that will cup block them..
