God, I wish their next game would've been in the new stadium. It would've been perfect for us. Spuds fans going wild at home after what happened tonight + the already shaky City players would've given me that much more confidence about them being able to hold them one more time.

      Cracking game though.

EDIT: My initial response was a bit snarky

Nah. I'm 50 years old and it's made me reflect a little. I now pick and choose which Liverpool games to watch (which is still about 97% of them). I love the club as much as I ever did and always will. I've just realised football is just a game and it doesn't define my life like it used to.

Besides, the wife had it on the iPad right next to me so I knew what was happening.

Don't get me wrong, if the Porto game was close, then, of course, I'd watch it. Like I said though, I knew we'd go through.

Don't worry about it. I flicked at the end to see how it ended and was glad I did. Great ending to a great night of footy.

      But apparently I'm weird.

I was flicking between our game and City/Spurs after Salah scored. Our game was boring as f**k, the other game was absolute madness and entertaining. So happy City got dumped out the way they did though - perfect.

It's a perfect week really. First, we put two past Chelski, one of them being an absolute screamer. Then Sh*t-Utd got destroyed on aggregate and dumped out of the competition. We won our tie 6-1, Gomez is back and managed to get decent minutes under his belt and to top it all off Qatar FC just got slapped right across the face once again in the CL.

After that, all I can see is City looking to destroy Spurs. Payback.
If you see sane face just before he came on, the Lad was not happy... Real are rumored  to be interested in Mane and should he go (Can't see it myself) but should he go I would; if I were Klopp, put in a bid for Sane straight away. May not convince him money wise but taking Mane place would give him regular first team football with a club that is going places fast ;D

The 2nd leg at home against Barca is scheduled for 07/05 and we play Newcastle away at 16:30 on 05/05. 2 days rest? Surely something has to move there...

No. I watched City - Spurs.

Knew we'd go through. And if we didn't, then I'd be glad I missed it.

      What the actual f**k mate?

Never thought I'd hear those words come out of any of our mouths....was glued to our game, as soon as it finished, flicked over and saw the ref say no f**king goal ....was laughing my arse off!!!  :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I still maintain I picked the right game to watch.

It was absolutely thrilling, insane, one of those games where you'd say "I was there" (if of course you were actually there - and not watching it in bed like was :D). There were 4 goals in the first 11 minutes! That set the tone and it rarely let up.

There was VAR, there was City scoring close to 90mins, where the Eithad went utterly ballistic - only for a complete turn around 2 minutes later. It was so emotional, so crazy and very exciting. And of course, we all saw City brought back down to earth. Quadruple my foot.

Whereas we were 2-0 up and it was practically game over.

Anyway, that result either fires City to greater things or it mentally scars them for a while. Whilst I think City will look to destroy Spurs, I have to remind myself that City this season were aaaaalll about the Champions League. So I think that will take some of the wind out of their sails. I hope.

I no longer watch the pre-season friendlies either. Unless there's a new signing I want to check out.

I suppose I'm just not as fanatical as I used to be.

I was the same had the Spurs-Citeh game on the mobile first half and us on the TV and then switched it around second half. Do not regret it as the Spurs-Citeh game was more exciting, ours was just a routine professional win after we scored our first.

I don’t think anyone has had a tougher road to the simis that we have.  We’ve gone through the best France,Germany, Portugal, and second best Italy have to offer. Next up Spain.  If history does repeat itself, let’s return to 1588 and crush this Barcelona Armada.

      Quote from what-a-hit-son
Sooooo much crazy cheering before anyone knew it was going to VAR. Pep up that line giving it the bifters and then "oh wait.."

      Beautiful.

The moral of the story: In a VAR game, don't celebrate until the goal is confirmed. Every goal scored is provisional until it passes VAR. It often restrains my celebrations, but I'm not complaining. For the good of the sport, it has to be this way.

Being a Wednesday European Cup game, I had to go out to watch our game. The people beside me were whinging why the screen wasn't showing the City game, despite it being shown on a different screen 20 yards away. All the early goals there only fuelled the whinging further, I was concerned they were going to ask our game be turned off. Eventually they upped and left.

With us easing through, I said "there's only Liverpool fans still watching this". Some have complained that it was boring, alternatively it was a chance to enjoy us doing things the easy way. There won't be many more of them this season. We were kept updated on the score in the other game, so we didn't miss anything. Our game ended as the premature celebrations for the provisional goal started in mancland. Unlike when they went to Swansea, we have VAR, so the right decision could be made, and was. So far, the system has helped us out, and helped to eliminate PSG, City, and the mancs. One thing the Sheikhs On The Take in Doha and Dubai can't control is VAR, even if they decide to throw another 500m quid trying to buy the European Cup for themselves. Correct decisions are made now. Conmen get their air fare home.

Ajax are an exciting young fearless side but if we are to face them in the final I think we are stronger in every area.
