Big blow for Celtic going out.  Don't they usually earn about £30M from the Champions League?

And I see Benfica go through so they will face PAOK in the playoff.  Probably fancy Benfica there so pot 3 it will probably be for the reds.

it might not matter much. Once removing English teams from pot 2, not as much difference between pot 2 or 3.

Benfica, Napoli, Roma, Donesk or Dortmund in 2.

Lyon, CSKA Moscow, PSV,  Shalke, Kiev or Salzburg in 3.

Even if we got in pot 2.. Lyon, CSKA or PSV is no better a draw than Roma or Donesk.

If any club spends even a pound on such nonsense then they don't deserve to be in the Champions League. Scottish football clubs have also had a tendency in recent years to blast music through the tannoy after the home team scores. Celtic have 'Just Can't Get Enough' by Depeche Mode whereas Rangers have 'One Step Beyond' by Madness. It makes for an embarrassing spectacle especially when you consider that Ibrox and Celtic Park are two of the most prestigious grounds in the whole of Europe.

For those guys who are big on getting into pot 2 we did get a favorable result as Benfica and PAOK drew 1-1 in Lisbon, second leg is next week in Greece . PSV beat BATE 3-2 in Belarus and RB Salzburg and Red Star Belgrade drew 0-0 in the other games.

De Jong got called up to the NT today, didn't he? Will be interesting to see how good that f**ker is! And De Ligt excits me! Can't wait to see what else they have up their sleeves!

A lot of names I don't know there, and only 4 home grown players! Damn, I was expected at least 7 :D Not quite like the Ajax 1995 team where they had 10 home grown players, rofl!!

I’m assuming this is another De Jong and not the bruiser that played for Citeh? Surely that guy retired.

Nah, a lot of criticism aimed at marc overmars for bringing in a lot of players instead of relying on the academy

I thought it was a fairly entertaining game with Ajax controlling much of the play but whenever Kiev attack they seem to produce chances as Ajax defense wasn't the best. Ajax could of had the tie done and dusted they hit like 2 or 3 posts in the second half. I also watched the PSV-BATE match which wasn't nearly as exciting but I wanted to see Hirving Lozano play since reading he made good impact for PSV after his transfer from Pachuca and have to say he looked good scoring a nice goal outside the box and pressing the play with his pace.
