Yeah, I was thinking the same!! Was it in the box? Very shocked it wasn't given as a foul.

We all knew that Ronaldo and Messi are the two best players on the planet. However, I was skeptical about how much the presence of one player could mean to a team regardless of how good he is.

I always thought to myself that yeah Ronaldo and Messi are irreplaceable, but how much of a difference can they make if they are playing on a side who is simply not good enough to win a trophy or too good not to win one?

Well this year, I have to take a bow. It's not just the hattrick that, to an extent, single-handedly takes Juventus to the next phase, but also the situation at RM after he left. On one side you have the team he just won three consecutive CLs with being effectively out of contention in all of the competitions they took part in this year and on the other, he just scored the three necessary goals to take his team to the next phase.

Ironic seeing the penalty was a complete joke, just look at bernadeschi tripping himself up.

A come uppance for the way he set up to play.

They are poor, but they've been even poorer of late, drifting down the Bundesliga table. They're now only a couple of positions above the relegation zone.

To give you some context, those are their latest results in the Bundesliga:

      Hertha 2-2 Schalke
      Schalke 0-2 Borussia Monchengladbach
      Bayern 3-1 Schalke
      Schalke 0-0 Freiburg
      Mainz 3-0 Schalke
      Schalke 0-4 Fortuna Dusseldorf
      Werder Bremen 4-2 Schalke

Their last league win was in January 20. A team that loses by 4-0 at home to Fortuna Dusseldorf really stands no chance against Man City, so I was actually surprised by the fact they made it difficult for City on the first leg.

And it was a sh*t UCL group - Porto (who came on top, unbeaten), Schalke, Galatasaray (3rd), Lokomotiv Moscow (4th).

Haha that celebration was awesome. If you give it, you must be prepared to take it back. I wanted Atletico to go through but was laughing really hard at that.
