and there you have it, Matip may have small tear in leg.

Looks like VVD-Gomez will have to lead the back line the first couple of games.

I was right behind the goal with all the scoring. Here’s what I saw.

VVD is top 5 CB in the world

Robbos crosses are poetry in motion. Sol glad to see two of my favorites hook up for a goal in person.

Kieta is FAST. So excited to see him mesh with this team and make us better

Moreno is even worst in person

Phillips was the only defenses worth a damn in the second half. Made some mistakes but looked promising

Milner looked his age. Terrible game from my point of view. Outside of his shot his foot looked liked it was made of lead

      Origi sucks

      Lallana works hard as hell

I'd say Gomez was starting ahead of Matip anyway. Matip has impressed since he arrived. 6"5 and doesn't win headers!

Not for the first couple of games Dado. Klopp has said as much.

Degsy isn't back until just before the Torino game.. he like Hendo and Trent won't be considered for West ham and possibly palace

      Long term it's Degsy though

Gomez will be fine with VVD beside him for the first few games.

      Another very good performance.

Something I noticed, when our CB's are on the ball, Fabinho would move into an area away from them, an area where he is available to recieve the ball, but knowingly dragging the opposition towards him and away from our CB's which allows the ball carrier the time to ping that hollywood ball or to bring the ball out.

I was thinking yesterday how a player like Sammer would be a dream in this team. He was pretty much a playmaking CB wasn't he? Lovren can ping them, can't he? Whilst VVD can bring the ball out with ease, will be interesting to see when we are all settled. I predict a few key/assist passes from our CB's this season.

Not caught much of the pre-season, so this may be obvious, but why is he often the man at the back receiving the ball? He's almost playing the CB role himself. The CB's seem further up the field than himself??

There's long period of the game where he was playing as a CB when Matip went off, so few moments you see of him is when he is covering for Matip.

As for him being deeper than the 2 CB's, It was only twice he did it, but I can't remember the reason why he was so deep.

TAA will be back betore Lovren & Hendo, when Klopp mentioned last week of having sent Jordan on his hols he said Trent would be back before the other two as he's younger & only played in one game.

But in our system, that deepest lying midfielder does often drop all the way to the back line. I've seen Henderson and Can do it many times. When we are not countering, the buildup to attack with our team is VERY methodical.

Looks like a great purchase to me (and I don't mean you are saying otherwise - just adding that).

Robbie: “every goal I ever scored against United and Everton. I F***ing hate em”

Me: “give me on in particular?”
Robbie: “Okay.... When I bossed Neville to the ground and flicked it over the keeper”
