      Just making a joke.

I expect him to continue playing a major role for us. We'll see about Sturridge.

Bit annoyed about wison to be honest, but hope the lad to do well

I agree with James Pearce that, at 21, he should be loaned to a Premier League club rather than one in the Championship, but sounds like  Stoke, Derby and Swansea are the three teams in contention for his services this season.

Agree - he had a good half, looks fresher than most of the other 11, of course he's the youngest.

Saying that, Milner was probably the one matching him for being industrious.

Virgil looked commanding on his return to the lineup, and Joel Matip was composed in defense.

Ojo continues to impress for me with little touches and runs, plus strong on the ball, but nothing was happening in the final third during that first 45 minutes. Sturridge and Origi not really getting anywhere.

Fabinho looked comfortable, Clyne and Moreno were active and Karius, while doing nothing wrong, is getting heckled by some fans every time he touches the ball.

      0-0 at the break, btw.

Origi was awful in that half.

Time is running out for him to impress.

Can't really see him here past the Summer.

      Stu was slightly better.

Karius plays today. Ward plays vs. Blackburn. It's preseason.

And he's NOT the new #1. He has the chance to become that.

Thank God for that, for one horrifying moment I thought we might not play Karius!!!

Moment of the match, Woodburn stands over a corner as the ball boy from Bury stands behind, picking his nose.

Yeah I know but it's also an opportunity for fringe players to impress.

I'd put most of it to fatigue. As the fitness improves, the quality will begin to shine through, and the team selection will become fairly self-evident. I'm not seeing anyone not already a first-team regular really make a significant claim for greater consideration so far, although Sturridge leaving isn't so much of a given, and a few young players, like Ojo, Camacho, Jones and Phillips, show decent signs for the future.

As others have said, Origi is not making much of a positive impression.

Think it’s quite clear that Origi has no future with us. If he can’t impress when our front 3 are away, I really can’t see him making an impression when they are back.

If there was one thing that I took from today's friendly is that we need someone in midfield that can lock defenses... Lallana is not it, or another quality striker and have Firmino be that player

Both Origi and Sturridge are pretty much out the door, Solanke ... No real future at the club...

Next 20 plus days will be intresting

I think Keita is that player, just give him time to settle in :) And if not him, Fekir ;)
