This early on in the pre-season is utterly pointless, and as a fan event, it's a waste of time.

Half the players are going through the motions knowing that they are leaving or won't be considered as part of the squad. They are playing for their futures elsewhere. Only reason Klopp is playing them is to flog them to another club.

Then there are the other's who are merely starting to refresh themselves on fitness and beginning to adjust to the club.

Think some of you are reading too much into these games. I check the result, check the highlights if we score a goal.. nothing much else of interest right now.

Not "pointless" to watch the team you love and focus on how the players do, the error would be in, as you say, reading too much into what each one means. But "interesting" and "waste of time" are matters of opinion. I make no apology for looking forward to every occasion when Liverpool play. Also, if you don't watch the matches, how do you know half the players are going through the motions?

BTW, your man Sturridge may well be playing himself back into an important role with the team this season. Maybe it's all just shop window, but I could definitely see him staying and becoming a major contributor again.

Seems like there are a couple of passes the creator missed out.

Right now I think he's keeping it simple and keeps the ball moving all the time, reading the game pretty well.
That tackle was a quite a hard tackle where he got summoned by the ref.

Pretty much what we will see all season from Fabinho. I feel we will be more controlling with him in the middle.

The photo gallery n the official site showed Wijnaldum working on the side, looked like he was running circuits with a staff member.

Echo says Wilson on the verge of a move to Derby. Not sure about ings. Still dealing with blisters?

I have a feeling Gini might leave for first team football.

Hopefully not as he is a top lad and useful squad player.

Who's to say how long it'll take Naby/Fab to settle in.
      Emre is gone.
So would be really surprised if we let Gini go this summer.
But, you never know I guess.

Would let Lallana go before I'd see Gini leave.

Absolutely this regarding your point on Gini. An injury to one of our midfielders, or failure to settle and/or perform means that the door is wide open for opportunities at this club. Yes, at present he may not be in most people's first eleven but there are so many variables that could and probably will happen which means he'll get his opportunity to perform just like last season and the season before. That said, like every other midfielder at Liverpool, he's going to have to fight for it that bit harder this season.

Especially with the type of fixture congestion we can have with extended runs in Europe and domestic cups. We finally have built some depth in the squad. Let's not lose it. Hopefully he will want to stay.

Has to be good that we've people of Gini's quality who'll need to battle to get into the first XI, we've come a ways under Jürgen.
And looking back to end of last season, want to avoid that again if we can, the team basically picking itself with so many injured coming into the business end of things.

With Ward possibly joining Leicester in the next few days, I wonder if Ward will actually be part of the squad tonight? If not, Grabara or Karius to start?
