I don’t know why it was chosen.  Probably for the incredible amount of LFC supporters we have here in NY/NJ.

It was a guaranteed good gate considering the prices of the tickets and food/beverage sales which would be split between both clubs and the NJSEA

Yes the Jets and Giants play on an artificial surface.  They have no irrigation.  I had to bring in equipment to be able to bind the sod with water on an incredibly hot surface.

I could not cut it short (as much as I wanted to).

With no irrigation at this time of year it is very difficult to keep a pitch both appeasing to the eye and safe for the players under such short time constraints and with so much traffic.

The facility has no grounds crew.  It’s an artificial surface.

All they have to do is swap out the end zones from Jets to Giants and put up the proper side wall decoration.

Oh and they have to sweep up the beer cups and hotdog wrappers.

I hate pre season and I hate the transfer window the sooner we get on with winning the league and the CL the better. 2019 will be the

      Certainly would.

What an anniversary it would be celebrating the great man's legacy.

Why was it chosen mate,  obviously not your fault, but not suitable at all

The organization that runs the ICC doesn't always have the most pristine reputation. The ground is quite new and it is not the only place where they have to put natural grass down on top of the resident artificial turf, but the combination of the concerts, the laying of the sod and the heavy rainfall made it a poor playing surface.

That situation is avoided with better planning, but again, the organization is going to be largely concerned with getting 40,000 + people, paying between 50 and 100 US dollars a head to watch a preseason friendly. There's only two other venues in greater New York that could do that, and they are taken by in-season baseball teams. So the bad timing of the concerts would be of little concert to the organizers because they just want the revenue and the quality of the surface/game are not vital to generating the money.

got a feeling this lad may be a better player than some people give him credit for. What we all love is a hungry player and this is such an opportunity for him to show the world he is as good as he thinks he is could be the best £13mil we have spent

      ???

Explain that one mate? No idea what you are meaning..

Sorry, maybe not the best use of words, but both Sturridge and Lallana are more likely to drop off than make runs behind/attack the opposition with the ball.

I really really hope so. No excuses for him now. He certainly has quality, but most importantly, he has the experience and should be in his peak for the next 3-4 seasons, and throw a world class attacking team and manager into the frame....

I am really hoping he can hit the ground running, and be more consistent than what I have come to believe.
Unfortunately, I can’t get the vision of Mat Lucas in a reds kit, being compared to shaquiri 😳

Karius and Keita misses the Utd game. As for Wijnaldum, he missed training today, I wonder what's up with him.

They had a Taylor Swift Concert on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before Wednesday’s game, so the pitch was not laid down until Monday at the earliest, that’s if Taylor Swifts stage was broken down in time, then the sod was laid down, they did their best, no irrigation system, I worked the game, and did the Liverpool team bus escort, it was a unreal see them that close. It was a great day.

Yeah.. don't think they should be waiting by the phone for a call from Liverpool about a job sorting the pitch at Anfield

Looks like it'll be BOTH of the kids in goal, actually.

The atmosphere should be buzzing tonight, but I expect a rather dull match. The final 28 minutes vs. City were pretty electric with Salah and Sadio making it fun. But I suspect everyone will be exhausted, the sun will be hot in late afternoon, the pitch will be narrow as it usually is in American football stadiums and of course we're playing one of the more negative teams about, so...I'm not expecting much in the way of entertainment (or maybe this is me being defensive since I couldn't go to a match so close).

Thinking about lineups, as the geek in me tends to do, maybe it will be something like:

      1st Half
      Grabara
      Camacho Gomez, Virgil, Robbo
      Fab, Milner, Lallana
      Salah, Sturridge, Mane

2nd Half (or final 30 minutes)
      Kelleher
      Gomez, Phillips, Klavan, Moreno
      Chirivella, Woodburn, Grujic
      Jones, Solanke, Shaquiri

You could see Chirivella in the back line, with Jones back in midfield and Markovic, Origi or Ojo up front as well.

looking forward to the UTD game tonight on LFCTV any opportunity to beat them is always worth watching. Loving how Klopp is so dismissive of Maureen and say he just wants to make him smile. Jürgen is just "the man".
