A world of difference from two years ago.

Woy's parting shot when he couldn't be bothered to do the Press Conference after the Iceland game and just wanted to get his money and run ...

      " I don't know what I'm doing here ".

      Infamous.

He didn't know what he was doing when at Anfield either.

I always think the World Cup in the U.S in 94 had some good games and some absolute great goals, from the performances of the Romanians and Bulgarians, but is always referred to as a sh*t world cup.

I always liked the world cup in 98 when Norway beat Brazil, cue Diego!!! ;-)

Already mentioned that World Cup in one of the other threads.

Bergkamp's winner against Argentina is still my favourite goal from that competition.

Overrated goal. Argentina should have dealt with that long ball, instead Bergkamp just had to score a relatively easy goal.

World class goal! I really liked his one vs Leciester in the same season too! What a player Bergkamp was!

1998 really had some great matches, I loved it too (not so much the ending!).

This Netherlands vs Argentina, England vs Argentina was fun (that Michael Owen goal!), Brazil vs Denmark was insane (and how good was Rivaldo), Brazil vs Netherlands was an amazing semifinal. Thuram scoring two goals in the semis vs Croatia was also heartbreaking, I remember cheering for Davor Suker at the time.

You trying to compare that fat, fag smoking, cockney spiv's goal with the one the Iceman scored?

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsZkCFoqSBs

Touch, technique and what a finish. A truly world class goal from a world class player. The end.

Anyone who has played football at any level and any position should know Bergkamp's goal was something special and more difficult to execute than Cole's goal.

I think Rib is the only person I have ever seen to say Bergkamp's goal is overrated and Cole scored better!!

You never tire of that goal. Even the long arching ball from De Boer is a thing of beauty. One of my favourite ever players was Bergkamp. Not content with scoring the greatest World Cup goal ever, he also is the beholder of the greatest goal in the Premier League.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IicmCu47pMo

Now - let's never compare Cole to Bergkamp again!

Probably won't win the midfield battle, but I am sure they can contain him

This in a nutshell,I wouldn't even have the f**king cheek to mention joe cole in the same sentence as  bergkamp the only comparison I can think off is one was a donkey & the other was a Thoroughbred

Its all spiralling down to a Brexit Final. Brussell's vs London. The young fresh break from the past England team versus the long term European styled project Belgian side. It truly has wider ramifications if it comes to pass. The success of Brexit may depend on the outcome. Of course I could be reading too much into it : )

3/4 chance that at least 1 of our guys will be returning with a World Cup winners medal.

Is it weird that I'm kinda really hoping it's our illustrious #6? :D

I think you might be a bit ;-), but the current dynamics of Brexit in the UK are fascinating, it's easier going to be a super soft Brexit now or Hard Brexit WTO, my betting is on the latter.

I'd actually be fairly happy with any of the remaining countries winning it but I do kind of have a soft spot for England this time around especially in the middle of the Brexit storm domestically and hostility from the EU, it would be a real shot in the arm for the country.
