Henderson as nailed on starter, I certainly hope not for the majority of games, assuming Fabinho plays why on earth would we need 2 DM's?

He is the Captain. Would Klopp not play his Captain when given the chance?

      He will.

Henderson will easily start 30+ games for us this season.

Keita, Henderson and Fabinho the midfield then? Seems the most likely makeup of the midfield.

Then we won't win as there won't be enough creativity in the middle. Henderson is a plodder, a sideway pass specialist plus he is F***ing useless at shooting. His only ok'ish position is as DM or defensive minded Cm and we already have better.

Having Keita in midfield is good enough to break down defensive teams imo. Also, Fabinho has an eye for a pass:

I do like the idea of a 3rd midfielder box-boxer (Hendo, Wijnaldum or Milner) more focused on supporting and pressing.

The way I see it we have a few midfielders. I doubt Hendo will be sacrificed coz he's Ingerlish, so Gini would be most likely given, Keita and him are similar. He does what is right ofr his career, I don't think its personal. Having said that I won't believe he's going until he's gone.

He's probably just sick of you stroking off the owners at every opportunity, only to turn around and criticize our captain.  Seems ass backwards to me....

First and foremost, support the players and the manager.

You can praise the owners when we start winning trophies on a regular basis again...

No No No, you have it all wrong, I support the CLUB, the entire CLUB, that means I support the owners when they improve the club same as I support players for great performances and a manager for good tactical decisions etc I certainly don't let my prejudices dictate who I can or can't support.

The irony here is that Hendo has won the same number of trophies at Liverpool as FSG.  Yet it is the owners rather than our captain who you choose to praise.  It is blatantly obvious where your loyalties lie mate....

Better get used to it nothing stokes up the plusses quicker than a FSG dick swinging contest.

There you are, criticise me, automatic uptick, you're learning. Yes you are right, I don't rate Henderson whereas I think FSG are good owners at the moment.

I could give a F**k about the +1.  I'd just like to see you support our players as passionately as you do the owners.  Just my opinion though mate.

Can't find it at the moment, but Tompkins did an excellent piece about Gini and the work he puts in, basically calling him the unsung hero of the team, who is hugely missed when he's not available.

I'm not sure I'd put it that strongly, but imo Gini is a very underrated player.

Just a tad bit inconsistent. I still rate him, but with the arrival of Keita he has some massive competition, hopefully it will up his game because he is a good player.

I see it a bit differently mate.

Where others see lack of consistency, I see a fella doing the grunt work.
That's not to say he is 100% consistent, no player is, I just see it differently.

To put it another way, if I don't notice Gini, he's having a good game.
I know that sounds counter intuitive, but I want to notice the flair players and the goalscorers.
If I'm noticing the players who do the dirty work, it means we're under pressure or not playing well.

Completely agree mate, underrated player who does a huge amount of work protecting the back four when needed and supporting the attacking midfielders. Not glamorous, but doesn't need to be. If we're going to compete in four major competitions, we should be bending over backwards to keep such a workhorse and versatile player.

Agree with this as well. FSG have slowly grown to be very good owners. World class manager, investment in the stadium, big investment on players and back in CL with a squad capable of challenging for title. I'm sorry that people are bothered about not having sheikh billionaires, we can't have it all, but I'm quite happy at the moment. Hendo however, has had years to prove himself. He's a good player and a decent lad with great attitude to work rate, but he's just not good enough to play for what is a higher quality team now. Would happily keep him as a squad player, but with Keita, Fabinho, Ox to come back and Gini...I wouldn't give him much starting 11 opportunities this season.

Way Gini has performed this pre season, would be highly surprised and dissapointed if we sold him.

Absolutely love players like him who are incredibly skilful but sacrifice this for the team he works his nuts off and like Henderson does the job the manager asks him to do .  To have players like Mo and Bobby in the team you need Gini and Hendo to do the dirty work without them you cant have Mo or Bobby.
