Top player who never got a proper chance and in retrospective was never meant to get a proper chance. I'd love to have seen him in a role that Elliott plays now: offensive midfield. No idea why. Was he too lazy and advice-resistant? Didn't he connect with Jürgen? We'll never know. Also if you look at the pathetic 9.5 Mio. you can see how little Klopp values him and how much Shaq wants to play. But all in all it was a friendly tenure, he won quite some silverware and not by only warming the bench (he was there for instance when we beat Barca), he made some crucial contributions in PL. So he can walk off with his head up high. That long pass to Mo will make him immortal in my mind anyway.

Nah, he was good sometimes but let’s not get carried away.

He was a good player but was toooo injury prone for us.   Hope he gets better luck with his new club.  He had some memorable moments all the best.

Really talented player who made a pretty big impact during his first season. His goals and assists helped us to come so close to winning the league, and his assist against Barca helped us to become Champions of Europe.

Injuries stifled his momentum and in truth, he was a never really a natural fit for Klopp’s 433. He was a good fit for the 4231 and I remember him destroying Arsenal, but Klopp has always preferred the 433 in his time here.

I never doubted his talent. In terms of just pure technical ability, he has to be at least top 5 at the club. He had an eye for a pass, long or short, the ability to execute it, and had a good shot with both feet, as well as being a really good crosser who had plenty of tricks up his sleeve to beat a defender.

Now is the time for him to get some regular games. Elliot is a good natural replacement of sorts, except it looks like Elliot is going to be able to become a CM in the 433. All the best to Shaqiri. One of my fav players ever since I saw him rip United to shreds when he was a teenager at Basel.

Thanks for the memories Shaq, good luck with your adventure to Lyon. Hope you get more game time, and fewer injuries.

Same here. Totally understand his wish to leave for he never got a real chance under Klopp. But I also understand Klopp. Shaq is world class with ball handling and passes/crosses, but only mediocre in speed and spirit. Put Robbo's brain into Shaq's body and you'll have a player right along Messi, Mbappe and Ronaldo.
