To the tune of bicycle race by queen

He likes to score a bicycle he likes to score a goal (x2)

      SHAQIRI, SHAQIRI, SHAQIRI, SHAQIRI

He likes to score a bicycle he likes to score a goal (x2)

      (repeat)

Brilliant. You should be a proud man for this input.

That's what the lad is capable of, that's why the vast majority here thought it's literally a no brainer at 13m. Long season ahead, let's hope he keeps his head, puts in the hard work and keeps playing at the top level he can. Will be very interesting.

He has to if he wants to play. He needs to performance every single minute because if not, better players will have his place.

Made up watching the lad, he looked hungry and went for everything with total commitment.

Cracking start but let's not get too carried away here, he has always been able to score spectacular goals. It will be interestingly to see if he can find the consistency he will need to be a regular for LFC.

Ps. I don't think he is our new number 10 although he can play there. I would still like to see a player like Fekir come in before the window closes.

£12m is great business. A no brainer indeed.

One thing i will say about Shaqiri so far is that in every picture you see of the guy he looks so damn happy to be here. Am intrigued by what he will bring to the team this season as i am not someone who was very excited when i first heard his name come up.

Shaquri is the product of everything that is wrong with transfer market. People have so much time on their hands that they delve into silly aspects of football instead of looking at the overall product on the field. I love Danny Ings, but the fact that he is garnering nearly twice the value of Shaquri is laughable. People are quick to point out work rate and attitude and leave out his power, shot shaping abilities, and that he played with absolute trash at Stoke. Besides, I have watched the guy for some time. I don’t see work rate issues at all.

Because Shaqiri had a low release clause, Ings doesn’t...

I think the point is that it was weird that there wasn't a bidding contest, starting at £13m and rising a lot higher. Not complaining though.

Yeah by Bidding war I kind of thought it was clear I meant more than 1 club were after him, ie rival bids the same kind of thing can push up a house price or think of it like an auction perhaps.

I get what you mean, but the clu  would have to accept 13m from us even if another club had bid more, a bidding war would have only got the player more money in terms of a contract

No it doesn't work like that. If only one club bid £13m then yes they would have to sell at that amount, as per the release clause, but if another club then bids £15m the selling club will of course go for that, then the original club comes back in with a higher offer etc etc.

Not quite, but we have replaced him with a lot of very good players, players we needed more than we needed Coutinho, ie a top CB, top GK, top DM and top CM plus a very interesting player in Shaquiri who I feel could turn out to be THE signing of the season, in relation to cost.

Another club could have bid 100m but they would still have to accept ours as it met the release clause....
