The saves at full stretch were incredible. The save he made in the 2nd half when he went down to his right and pushed the ball outside the box with a strong hand is what the very best keepers do in that they don't just make the save they also ensure the ball is not put back into the danger zone. What a signing he has been.

If Neuer can play until his late 30s why can't Ali, who is 32, stick around for a few years yet? That was peak Ali last night, stretching and clawing like no man you've sever seen. It doesn't matter who we sign or who we think we might need, if he carries on like that, or even close to that level, he stays and everything else waits.

Crossed my mind as well but I didn’t figure Slot would do it. Ali a great game keeper but shootouts he’s pretty average. Told the wife I’d consider putting in Kells when it went to pens.
