Joe Gomez Player Thread (D)

Did you ignore last season then 🤷‍♂️

I just look from stats site, admitted not sure it's correct  
Joe is a CB.
Last season in EPL he played CB 2 times, one start and one from the bench.
In Europa League  he played CB 3 times, two start and one from the bench.
Last season he has VvD, Ibou and even a kid Jarell Quansah ahead of him in the squad.
Last season he played maybe around 30 times as full back.
Also as a fullback Tsimikas and a kid Conor Bradley are ahead of him.

I'm one of a few who like Jo Gomez the most on this forum but I won't call him quality player (at least at this moment). If need I would call him a good squad player. And I'm totally happy to have Jo with our squad.

Gomez filled in at left back and was superb - think he started half the prem games as well as most of the cup games

He is quality -very good across all the back line and not many can say that

This is pretty much it. When Gomez is fit (which he has been for awhile now) he is invaluable for his versatility and his ability to basically play just about any position as if it's his primary one.

Couldn't agree more.

We lost one in Milner so I'd be loath to lose Gomez. Players like him are worth more than they appear at times due to the versatility

To be fair, he played so many games at left back because at the time we had no one else fit enough to play.
And whilst he was desperatly needed at left back, he couldn't exactly play CB.

Remember the difficult time for Gomez few years back I think not many on this forum said it's worth keeping him. I am one to say I acknowledge his values. Of course maybe many supporters want Gomez to stay but as I  mentioned no many expressed that here.

For someone to like a player it's no need that player to be a top quality one. Just like I liked Nat Phillips a lot but I know he is not a van Dijk level player.

I know truly my poor English could really irritate someone (as same as I got anger reading google translate Thai language everywhere now in my country ) so I rather just read than post here.

Quality of educations in my country are in crysis stage and for quite a long time and there are no better foreseeable sadly but that is another issue 

Considering his lack of game time Joe was superb today....calmness personified.

He was extraodinary. I had my doubts but what do I know, fair fucks.

Joe Gomez is a great! Often underestimated. I'd argued with many on here about him but IMO the guy is underrated
