He showed passion, he semi assisted the second but he needs to improve. Came back from an injury too.

It's a bit of a running theme this season it seems mate.

People seem obsessed that other teams are better than us, have better players, our players are sh*te etc.

You wonder how we've ended up where we are this season to hear some of the nonsense

Jones came on and got a stupid Yellow.

What is your obsession with backing the players who are not good enough for the team? I get that they are local lads. We saw the same nonsense for Jay Spearing. Not good enough!

As it is I defended him for his passion after the match. He showed a lot more passion there than some of the local supporters in this forum.

Watching the first episode of the Klopp story and they highlight Jones - and it shows both what it means to him to play for the club and also how highly Klopp rated him

I really like Jones a lot, but it's performances like today that drive people crazy and fuel his haters fire. I don't even care about the pen, that's a crap shoot and kudos for him being brave enough to step up and take one. But he came in and did the same thing he's always struggled at, amd that's dilly dally on the ball and continue to lose it. Like Trent, Theres a good CJ and bad one. Both players are class, but bad CJ on the ball gets his pocket picked far too often and really sets us back with possession and rhythm. At this point in time, what you see is what you get with him. Doesnt seem like it's going to change

I thought he should've started the game (along with Kostas, Endo and Darwin), must be a real kick in the balls to them that no matter how well they can play in these cameos, there's nothing they can physically do to force a start in a Prem or CL game and I don't think that's unfair to say.....can you really expect these players to remain motivated when they're shown no faith by their manager?

Then maybe we could've had the power from the bench with the Grav's, Szobo's, Robbo's, Diaz's etc to push on into the latter stage of the tie.

No way do you start Endo against such an athletic side.

Jones can consider himself unlucky not to start. Him starting with the other 3 regular midfielders, that may have worked. Like many I thought the Man City away game was going to be the blueprint for tough Euro games, but Slot never went with it despite us being dominated in possession.

The baffling selection is Jota. You could almost have scripted how it would go. Against the old, lazy PSG, where the 3 superstar fowards never tracked back and they were easy to dominate, then you have a box finisher like Jota playing. When its backs to the wall you need more than just a finisher up there.

Thought before the game the only question mark was Jones or Nunez depending on what formation he preferred, to go with neither and have the lightweight in Jota made absolutely no sense.

Don't have a problem with him volunteering. Just wish Slot would have changed the order around. Immense amount of pressure for Curtis especially after Darwin's miss.

Went missing again in a big game, happens all to frequently, simply not good enough, how many times did he get caught with the ball dawdling

A couple, but so did just about everyone else. He's got courage which I like...hopefully Slot can teach him a little bit of urgency if he's going to be a part of this squad going forward.

I personally don't think CJ is good enough to be starting for us - he's a decent squad player, and should probably be our 5th choice midfielder. The fact that we're thinking he should've started yesterday vs this PSG team is actually symptomatic of how poor/thin our midfield options are. We're sorely lacking an athletic/energetic midfielder to fulfill the role we're expecting him to perform.

Both Vitinha and Neves looked levels ahead of him in quality. That's the type of standard we should strive for.

Curtis Jones has got a 99% pass completion rate cos he only ever passes the ball 2 yards. Takes no responsibility for making things happen.
What is he good at someone please tell me.
Everybody in our pub was horrified when Jones came up for the penalty. We all knew he was going to miss and so did all Liverpool fans if they’re honest.
He thinks he’s Maradonna but he wouldnt get in our ale house team.
They will still be saying he’s got potential when he’s 40. 🤦‍♂️
