      What a player.

"He looks like a future England player"

      F**k off.

He looks like a future Liverpool stalwart and even captain, which is far more important.

Bill Shankly's comment to Roger Hunt when he returned to Melwood for pre-season training, after just winning  the World Cup.

F***ing love how he runs at opposition defenders. This is the type of player we have been craving for years and we haven't had to spend a cent to get him.

Honestly watching him, sometimes I think, he think's he's Messi and it can drive me nuts during game time but then I think, F**k this lad is only going to get better and better and he's only 18.

We could have another potential Superstar in our midst.

Tightness in the groin, he'll be sound for next weekend.

Jota also missing from Portugal training sessions due to muscle injury.

Certainly deserves a starting place, in the side against Watford, at the weekend.

Might make it back for the weekend apparently, but would think its a stretch he'll start, after being out. Fingers crossed though he's further along that we think.

He's got a long way to go if he is to make it based on that performance. His efforts off the ball are dire and I don't think he works hard enough. It was similar to his performance off the ball against Brentford but this was of an even lower standard today.

Technically gifted, good on the ball but that will only take you so far. It's part inexperience I'm sure but he'll need to find Milner and Henderson levels of dedication if he is to make it in the long term. Does he have what it takes?

My concern is that he was a mainstay in the team for much of last season when we were injury riddled. The defence never really recovered but it was only when Thiago came back that the form took a big upswing. Opposition sides are running amok with Jones a permanent fixture in that midfield.

Like the post above says, he doesn't seem to do any of the dirty work off the ball. He really sucked today. Elliott showed more of a motor away from the ball in 3 games than Jones has in 50.

Guys like Milner, Firmino, Robbo, Mane, etc. Set the tone for what Klopp requires when the other team has the ball, to this point the kod ain't cutting it. Very skilled and polished with the ball, but sucks without it. Need more

It show what's lacking in his game when the stronger midfield players are not in the team and he is with lesser players

He is young he still dreams of scoring winners and of being the next Stevie G. He has all that is needed and the best manager to help him make progress he dreams of.
Still plenty of room for improvement

I have not been impressed with him at all this season. He is almost invisible most of the game wether we are talking offensively or defensively. It happened again yesterday. Don't see him pressing hard, don't see him winning the ball often either. Yesterday it felts like Henderson and Ox were left to press on their own and also run back towards their goal when the press was broken through by Brighton. I might be wrong but I can't remember seeing Jones doing much of the leg work on the press or tracking back. Regardless of from which side Brighton was breaking Jones was always the last midfielder to track back (just trotting along). When Brighton attacked from Ox's side and Robertson would tuck in this left acres of space with only Sadio running back. If we were playing a team like City or Chelsea something like that would've been well exploited.

Seen a stat earlier that was very telling in that it matched what I've been coming around to realize by watching him since the start of this season. He started 3 league games for us. Out of those 3 games we won none. We also conceded a total of 8 goals in the league. 7 of those 8 goals have come when Jones has started.

I think this is why Milner has started over him. As old as Milner may be you know he's gonna press, track back and win the ball back. Those 3 things are non negotiable in the way we play (and modern football really). My guess is that once Milner, Thiago and Fabinho are back Jones is not gonna see a minute of league or CL football for a lengthy period of time.
