Curtis Jones Player Thread (M)

I think if you recall back his original 'style' was lots of flicks and tricks and running at opponents. This appeared to have been coached out of him prior to his injuries and he was a bit more subdued. Since regaining fitness he's improved game on game and obviously working to the plan he has been coached to do.

Also probably not good enough to be a regular starter but vital to a Klopp squad.

Not changed me mind but he's certainly giving the boss no reason to drop him, so maybe he is good enough to be a regular starter. Stay fit over the summer and he has to start next season as he's earned the shirt.

Was a few months ago actually, along with most of our fan base, when we were playing consistent dogshit. Luckily we got some key players back fit the last few weeks, and adjusted TAA's role, which made a huge difference to our form.

The interesting thing is that Jones is playing a more 6 role for England in this tournament. Being a more deep lying play maker - the guy is really blooming

Ive only seen the odd highlight on twitter. the TV coverage for this tourni has been very very poor.

Sky sports seem more interested in cricket, womans cricket & mason mount or declan rice. pmsl.

I genuinely think he could end up being an amazing player for us, he has so much ability and confidence.

It's all opinions fella...for me he too easily went into a shell. Iv'e said it before, he now seems to have realised if he wants a career at the top then you have to break the shackles and go for it...otherwise you're left behind wondering what might have been. He's got all the attributes, just needs the discipline to get to the next level.

He seems to be playing very well at this No.6 level although I suspect it's much tougher in the PL. But when I see this, I tell myself that I won't lose sleep if we let Thiago go to get Lavia or another DM. Jones is ripe enough now it seems to step up. He won't be a starter but we have enough cover to afford to let Thiago go, he's simply not reliable enough due to his fitness level.

Bold from you but his performances at the end of last season were good. And I think he could make a case for a start, at least ahead of Hendo and Fabinnho and definitely Thiago.
