Surprised Ings was left on the bench considering he's their only decent striker.

Unfortunate for Soton to give up 2 in a couple minutes before half time. Don’t see them coming back from that but overall they seem to be playing good football under the new coach.

It was only ever a hope that they would drop points again. If they were poor enough to drop points 3 games in a row we wouldn’t have to worry about them at all.

So the Fernandinho theory is true. City drops points without him.

A really favourable fixture list to start off his stint and I bet he is believing the hype. Let’s see what he is made of come Feb/March when sh*t hits the fan and he is up against the big boys.

It’s the one thing they’ve handled right is giving Solskjaer the easiest start possible. Let them think they’re Daddy Big Balls again. They have us in between the PSG games and Arsenal and City straight after, that will put them back in their box.

Interesting comments from Southampton Manager today:

Firstly - the dig at Man City's lack of confidence. Hopefully more teams will go at them too. Secondly, by Half Time, they had already resigned, and were looking at the next game. Shame those two goals came just before half time.

      Quote
"The first 15-20 minutes we were not very good but we smelt a bit of sensation when we equalised. We saw that Man City is not that confident in the moment like they are when they win week after week. We tried to push ourselves back into the game and press a little bit earlier but we saw when they have time to turn they are dangerous.

"We gave the first goal away too easily and the ball went over a number of players in the box. At half time we thought about preparing the guys for a good second half but in the mind was also the next game against Chelsea.

      Weak mentality.

No team should go in to a second half resigned to a loss only 2 goals down especially at home. They should fight tooth and nail until the end.

Can still see them going down with this guy managing them.

I'd like to thank the following for their assistance during the Christmas period

Palace and Leicester for doing a job on Citeh, taking all 3 points both times

Rafa Benitez for not starting Rondon and Perez who I thought were Newcastles 2 major weapons.

Unai Emery for not starting Lacazette up top with Aubamayang against us.

Wolves for doing a number on the Spuds.

Mike Oliver the Ref in the Arsenal game for giving Mo the penalty and for not giving a pen against Shaq where he clearly got the Arsenal fellas foot and finally

to our Beloved LFC for smashing everyone that gets in our path.   ;D

I was thinking the exact same things during match day! I think Rafa did it on purpose ;)
