Are west ham any good? they spent a lot this summer

They'll do what they do every season - blow hot and cold. Their deluded fans think they should play some fantasised enchanted version of the game.Gliding over the top of the turf brushing aside teams with their glory glory football forever blowing bubbles, when in reality they are forever scrambling to stay out of the bottom 6-8 winning sod all season after season.

This season will be no different.

      Alisson
      Clyne Gomez VVD Robertson
      Fabinho
      Keita Shaq
      The Big 3

I'd like to get Shaq involved, esp. against teams of outside the top 6. But probably we'll see Henderson/Wjinaldum instead of Shaq.

We have a golden opportunity here for a good start with a home game and City at Arsenal. Our chances of winning the PL this year are as high as never since the early 90's. We need a little bit of luck and no crucial injury (and MC a little bit of bad luck) but then we could win PL, CL  and FA-Cup. I see us equal to MC and superior to United, Chelsea, 'ham and Arsenal.

Klopp is going to be left with some selection headaches.

It's a nice dilemma to have for a change.

Looking forward to this as going up with my son for the weekend  ;D

Think West Ham are not to be underestimated here as they've spent pretty big this summer, so could be a tricky match.  Be good to see some of the new guys in the flesh, and hope Shaqiri gets a decent run out, as he's looked very good in pre-season; good feet, moves the ball quickly, and has end-product.  He could go on to be a superb signing if he kicks on.

Anyway, I'm going for a 3-1 win.  Mane, Sturridge & Shaqiri to net.  Roll on Saturday morning.

3 goals for us and Mo Salah not on the score board, make it 4-1 and give Mo the fourth goal.

Isn't Clint supposed to start these threads ???

I'd imagine we will send out the same 11 as we started with against Napoli.  There are a few possible changes the boss could make, but that seems most likely to me.

In the end, I think we will win this one fairly comfortably.  West Ham have a new manager and like 10 new players.  They will pose a threat in attack through the individual talents of Yarmo and Felipe, but they will lack the cohesion and chemistry that our boys have.

I'm going for a 4-1 victory, with 1 goal a piece for Sadio, Salah, Bobby, and Studge off the bench.

actually i just started a thread asking what people thought the lineup would be. Someone else changed the title and added the graphic. Sorry.

      Wow...missed these threads.

Let's start the season with a thumping win over West Ham and continue to look down on everyone for the rest of the Season.

Think Shaqiri will get a run out at some point, cannot wait for this game.
Hope so as he's looked very sharp in pre-season.  I'd be happy if he started, maybe behind/around the front 3.

Every bone in my body says we needed one more attacker in, but I really hope I am wrong.

This side is good on paper and can be great in reality, one week at a time. I fancy West Ham to come play football. I love it when sides try to play football against us, this season hinges on how we do against the sides who don't want to touch the football.

      Liverpool 4-1 West Ham.

Home win against the Hammers, on Sunday. I think I will go for a 3  0 win, in the Prediction League.

OK we play Henderson then, isn't it lovely to finally have some cover.

      Exactly, good depth.

Hope he is match fit and sharp enough, if not, then Wijnaldum 6 with Lallana and Milner in midfield?

I think if Fabinho is injured, we will go with Milner, Keita & Gini, as Hendo won't be sharp enough to start IMO.
