Didn't think I'd be bemoaning the lack of Nat Phillips this window but we are cutting it fine with CB numbers with Joel n SVB off as well.

Rather be short than having him linger around sucking wages from us

Why are we paying him 65k per week?

What stupid person agreed that ffs

Makes you wonder why we sold so many players this season, we must be paying our non bench players crazy money

Tbf the new deal came a few months after he helped the club get back into the CL and it has to be said at the time he, Rhys and Kabak all did very well so it was probably merited......we weren't to know it would be that short lived.

      I see

Just seems like a huge huge huge waste of money. That may be the reason why we have not been able to sell him too imo

Certainly not helped no although we could've moved him on to Turkey for £4m but we wanted double.

f***in hell, really?! What crazy F**k gave him that. I mean I like him, he did a good job standing in when we had injuries, but that's ridiculous.

I like Nat and id rather have him here. He never let us down.

As for sucking money out the club well 3 liabilities chamberlain keita and thiago sucked 25m a year out of this club and (chamberlain post knee) the 3 of them contribted the square root of fcuk all. Thiago stood in the centre circle for 5 minutes the whole of last season, managed to get injured and got paid just short of 12m for his time. Out fcuking rageous. Wasted money from a club that doesnt have money to waste apparently. Nothing against those 3. The club signed the deals with them and then kept them when they should have been shipped out. Self inflicted damage to the balance sheet and self inflicted damage on the pitch carrying 3 walking sicknotes who were never going to contribute.

Fortunately the sicknotes have gone now. And hopefully philips can be part of a lean squad that stays relatively healthy. We are pretty well covered and the emergence of Grav adds to that.

If things take a turn, i know we will be able to count on philips, unlike the 3 mentioned above.

I think Nat Philips being in the squad, ready to play isnt a big thing. Not like hes injured for 4 seasons.

Club had to be more ruthless at that point. Nat and Rhys did well for us and did a job but they were never going to be Liverpool quality going forward and needed moving on at that point.

There's a shock bringing  them players into it when completely irrelevant
