Starting a player thread as there didnt seem to be one.

Where the hell did this lad come from? Yes I can search the internet too - 21 years old (born in 97 - ouch I'm old), from Bolton, back injury most of last season, and now captain of the under 23s.

He's been immense all preseason. Could argue he should be ahead of Gomez after recent performances, even if they were friendlies.  Big strong frame, composed on the ball, and can pick a pass; may you have a long prosperous career you man!

Considering we can never rely on Matip I'm glad we have this lad, he's very promising.

He has done well -
Stood out a number of times , has already been training with the first team this season

Been injured a bit recently

I heard Klopp raving on about how good he was in pre season.

I went to Dortmond game earlier this summer. He really stood out in the first half of the second half. Got a bit lost the longer the game went on. Looks promising. I would imagine you would want Fabinho to play over him though.

Season loan in Stuttgart.

Got an assist yesterday for Stuttgart's third goal,back in the team after they gave up 6 last weekend.50,000 odd at the game.

Returning to the club Jan. 1 from his loan in Germany. Played 11 times for Stuttgart.

This is a smart move given our injury situation. I had been calling for a loan signing and honestly, totally forgot about him. I don't think he's played with the first team in a competitive game but he should know the system and the players. He would be an emergency fill-in but I'm sure Jürgen likes this better than bringing someone totally new in with only a small chance that he would actually get in to a game.

Makes sense but slightly worrying at the same time about when Matip who originally had a ' knock on the knee' has been out for so long and Lovren with no return date either. I am afraid one of these need to go in the summer simply cant be relied on with their fitness

Also, apparently this recall has been done with an understanding if Dejan and Joel return as expected before the end of January that Nat will go back to Germany. This is just a contingency - a smart one as I said before - but Jürgen won't be using him unless absolutely necessary.

It is a good move to bring him.   If Dejan and Matip come back it make sense to send him back.   Hopefully Fabinho will be back by the end of January too.  I'm hoping that Williams/Hoever can help to cover right back too with Milner and we keep Gomez in the middle.

Jürgen reiterates Nat will probably return to Stuttgart sometime this month.

Gone back today to Stutgart in Bundesliga 2 and mission accomplished in keeping us in the FA Cup. On a wider scale, I think the lad may have caught the attention of some premier league clubs for next season.

I guess Jürgen is confident in Joel and Dejan's availability the rest of the way.
