Happy we won, unhappy we looked like last season much of the game. But it's early in season and CP is a decent team, so maybe I am too picky. For my taste we still play too much horizontal against weaker teams. Against WHU we looked a lot more vertical, that's where we have to go.

Lallana has looked tentative any time I've seen him in recent games. Doesn't to do anything with the ball when he comes on, certainly doesn't take anyone on like he used to. Needs to improve, would prefer to see Shaq come in who looks confident - can only think Jürgen is more worried about possession, and maybe we'd see him if chasing a goal, as opposed to defending it.

On route home and have to say, that was a F***ing hard match to win. It was such a tough game. A few players didn’t perform to their best levels.

I watched it on a decent NBC stream and non other than Martin Tyler was commentating- he was just as bad, bemoaning another controversial Salah incident !! WTF is he on about !

I gave VVD MOTM but I think that was one of Gomez's best ever displays in a Liverpool shirt. Away to Palace at Selhurst Park, against Zaha as well. Matched him with every footstep.
