For context, it's been a year since Palace last lost by two goals at Selhurst Park. Last team to win at Selhurst Park was, of course, Liverpool back in March (2-1 to us).

And I've said this about Palace fans before but they are seriously the most petulant, needy fans around. ALWAYS claiming a foul or a throw in or whatever despite it being stonewall, clear as daylight decision. Ridiculous but I suppose that's what you get if you have a lack of songs.

All those bitter Palace fans boo'ing Salah after his penalty collision, does my head in !
I watched it on a decent NBC stream and non other than Martin Tyler was commentating- he was just as bad, bemoaning another controversial Salah incident !! WTF is he on about !
      get over it.. :lmao:

Sh*te tactics from the owl tonight and his star man Zaha was sh*te all night long.
Benteke was even worse, he's f***in useless.

      3 points in the bag

      The journey continues.... :kop5cf8koxp6:

F***ing hell. Maybe I was wrong on Gomez being MOTM!
Yeah voted for Gomez but just looking at some of the balls VVD won at key moments makes me doubt. I think you just expect it from him but made me really happy to see Gomez put in an assured performance like that.

Superb win. Had all the things we have been missing at times over the last few seasons. Wasn't the prettiest game in the world but our lads controlled the ball, were resolute and compact in defence, we had a keeper who came and cleaned everything out and made a really good save when called upon and our two best players were centre-halves. Felt like a coming of age performance to me.

Spoilers mate in every sense of the word.

Saha did nothing after Milner put him on his arse

Just can't get my head round how a team playing at home in front of their own crowd resort to boring non entertaining tactics.
They had one decent shot which hit the bar first half through Keita's mistake and one shot which whistled across the face of our goal second half.. oh yeah and one effort from a free kick which Allison saved.
Did they really play so sh*te? or did we make them look sh*te?

Great win tonight the team showed great character, the defence was rock solid VVD was immense and showed true leadership and the score sheet was kind to Palace. But the most important thing beside the win is the clean sheet again.

VVD, Gomez, Allison and Keita the standouts for me. Very important win on a difficult ground.

We are looking very good and we will improve even more as time goes by.

I think Keita and Gini could form a great understanding (same for VVD and Gomez) and Fabinho needs to be gelled in.

Great to win like that really. Front 3 were miles off it but even on a bad day Mo is involved in the 3 key moments. The full backs were similarly poor. When all that clicks we will start to blitz teams.

In the mean time the profligacy in front of goal (only 6 goals in 2 games 😂) is shining a light on the 2 big signings in the back line. The keeper and VVD have really made us a proposition to deal with.

Pretty average by our standards but its all about just getting the "W" at this stage. This is the kind of match we would have drawn a few years ago so its good to just get the 3 points on the board.

Really like that Alisson, Gomez, VVD triangle. Very solid, have always highly rated Joe, that tackle in the first half was phenomonal. I feel for the first time in yonks, quite comfortable at the back.

TAA was poor, I still think hes too young and inexperienced to be starting in our 11 every single week. Hopefully Klopp will use more of Clyne in the near future. We dont want TAA getting burnt out as hes clearly a bright prospect for the future.

Keita looking like a boss too - the early signs are promising.

Onto Brighton now, which theoretically should be another comfortable win. Target has to be 12 points going into international break.

Good day, dad well enough to be discharged from hospital and the mighty redmen win, certainly weren't great but will gladly settle for an ugly win

Good to hear your dad is getting better mate.

Didn't get to see the game, was in a work meeting, but I'll take this. Not sure how well or not we played but I've seen us too  many times lose or tie games like this one, getting 3 points in games like these is what champios do, let's keep doing the same thing.

Spent much of the last few years living in delusion and denial and not just regarding his disastrous few months with us. A very cowardly man as he displayed after that humiliating loss to Iceland in his last match as England manager when he scuttled down the tunnel as soon as the final whistle went and left his players to carry the can and face the music in front of a booing set of supporters. Refused to speak to the press as well leaving the players to answer all the tough questions. As hilarious as that match might have been, his actions that night were sheer cowardice and a mark of the man. Absolutely pathetic behaviour.
