Well we didn't, and it wasn't.

Once the mancs were in the same side of the draw, we couldn't be in Group G. For tv purposes, no more than 2 sides from the same country can be in the same side of the group draw.

So there was only 3 groups available by then. A C or D. We got C. Could be better  and could be worse. We all know about Napoli, PSG will be as close to playing City as it gets at this stage, while Red Star will be difficult at home.

In short, it's the usual kind of group a third seed can expect to get. Tough but manageable.

People say we got a tough group - I say the others got the tough draw. We're in pot 3 - last year was incredibly lucky, we were always gonna cop someone "decent." For that someone to be PSG is brilliant, the pressure is on them to deliver with how they spend. And with the way they'll want to play, we'll defo get chances. Napoli are an unknown with the changes they've gone through, will be tough - but manageable. Don't have a F***ing clue about Red Star to be honest, so I won't say we should win because there's no easy games.. But we should be looking to bank 6 against them.

Bring on the best of europe it's the sort of nights we took for granted 10 years ago. It's so F***ing good to be back in the champions league consistently.

Pre season or not, Napoli will be worried after the 5-0 smashing we gave them.

PSG are obviously a bit dangerous and have some very good players, but they suffer in the same way as Celtic do, by having a crap league around them, whereas the English teams have far more competitive matches every week and become tough and battle hardened. I also think that PSG and Napoli are expansive and open teams, rather than bus parkers, and those kind of teams we normally gobble up and spit out.

Modric definitely deserves it, 3 CL on the bounce plus getting Croatia to the final in addition to being an outstanding midfielder.

I hate this kind of question so many people ask, what’s the point?! Why does it have to be one or the other? We treat both competitions equally seriously and aim to win them both. Simple as that.
