What a game this is. If we win, it will give us huge push. I won't be home to prepare the live thread but Danzel is doing a good job too.

Is right, we win this and to be 6 points head of them already would be massive.

This is an intense run of games we’ve got coming up and this game could be what defines how it goes. Get the win and we enter it with even more confidence, momentum and belief. Lose it and will be a hit to the confidence, something we can’t afford to happen right now. Crucial, crucial games and arguably one of the biggest and most testing times of the season. If all goes well we could potentially be 6 ahead of Spurs, Mancs and Arsenal, 5 ahead of City and 3 ahead of Chelsea.

Each game becomes more and more important and we owe Spurs a twatting after last season.
I’d love us to play them off the park and get a convincing win but ultimately I don’t care if that happens or if we scrape it like vs Brighton and Leicester, just as long as we come away with the 3 points.

I don't have stats to hand but I'm willing to bet that we are far less effective in midfield when we start both Henderson and Milner together, I can certainly recall far more games where we had a sh*t game with those 2 both playing in midfield compared to ones where I have thought, wow those two together completely bossed that midfield and created countless chances going forwards. Each one on their own is fine but they have to have creative players around them otherwise they sort of cancel each other out.

I'd go with the same midfield as our first three games, ie Wijnaldum, Milner and Keita.

Understand what your saying buddy, i think it will depend if Ali makes it or not, he's pivotal to them what with his understanding with Kane, if he's out I'd go with Milner, Gini & Naby, if Ali plays we need to combat their mids and i just feel having both Henderson & Milner we will be stronger in that area.

I agree with what you are saying about Alli, but I feel they might be more balanced without him as they would be forced to play another natural wide player/inside forward in, Son or Lamela. Also, I reckon Eriksen is their key player that links everything up, and would be afar lesser team without him. I'd rather be facing Spurs without Eriksen than Alli.

Good side Spuds, expecting close match, after Intl break and us not quite moving thro our top gears.
Bob has been quiet enough so far, as has Mo - but Jürgen is slow to change the starting XI, so don't expect changes.
Lot of talk about Hendo and his form - but I'd expect him to start. Likely Milly and Gini too.
How good is it to feel so strong at the back, what a platform the lads in the middle and front have now.
Would be a big statement to beat Spuds, after them squashing Utd, and being at home.
      Looking forward to the match.

Jürgen has a bit of a head scratch for this i reckon, who to play as the mid three, Fabinho is ready i believe but whether Jürgen risks him for his debut in such a high end game remains to be seen,

He 'totally' trusts Hendo so it looks like he could get the nod ahead of the Brazilian, so who then does he put in front of his General,
ppl say that Hendo & Milner imbalances the side, but I'm not so sure, and we've seen how well Gini has been so far this season, so could that be the trio we see against Spuds ?

It is rumoured that Ali could be out which weakens their central area quite considerably, If so, would Keita be a better option since he can both defend and attack in  instant,

Personally i think chucking Fabinho in in such a match is too early for him, he'll probably start against Saints, as Ali was rested mid week i think the rumours are just that and will play, so i reckon we'll go this....

                                  Alisson
              Trent Gomez Virgil Robertson
                                Henderson
                    Milner                 Wijnaldom
                 Salah        Firmino       Mane

Bench; Mignolet, Clyne, Fabinho, Keita, Sturridge,  Shakiri, Klavan

Biggest test so far this season, they had a field day last season but we are a different animal from then, its going to be a cracker and i see us getting the better of them and absolutely nailing our colours to the mast.

      1 - 3 Redmen,  Champions Elect !!

      YNWA

I'd be surprised if Hendo wasn't left out but starts on Tuesday after the international break. Milner, Gini and Naby for me.

I'm not going for a draw, but a win and the lads are more than capable of getting the result. Just remind the lads it was 1-4 last season and needs no other motivation to  thump the lot at Wembley. Distrupt their movement and they will be frustrated and cut off all supply to Mr. grump and I have the hunch kane will be sent off in view of their lost to Watford and they are desperate to close the gap and they will resort to diving and rolling all over the pitch.

I got back from holiday the day before our last game so the last two weeks has been made even more tedious with no footy on.

Anyway, all kicks back off today and with this mad run of games ahead all of those sitting on the fence about our potential this season will definitely start making up their minds!

Get a result today red men!

Huge game. The first of a very important run for us. I don't know if it's my imagination or not but we never seem to win after the international break either. Tottenham away too, they don't come much tougher than that.

Presuming everybody is fit then the team picks itself for me. Go with the same line up that we had for the first three games where we looked confident and played some really good dominant football. The main thing is bringing Keita back into the 11 and putting Gini back into the 6 who is much better in possession than our skipper.

Jürgen needs to grow a pair here and drop Henderson. He came in against Leicester and we were all over the place and were extremely lucky to come away with the points.

I can't believe I'm saying this but do not risk playing our captain against Tottenham. Same line up as the first three games please Jürgen and we will be alright.

Lets all take a moment for Higgy who instead of watching the game will be otherwise engaged for 5 hours on his honeymoon.
Remember how for decades Spurs just lay down before us and let us piss all over them well its time to reclaim our territory. We haven't played well so far but boy we look resilient don't we. I cant see us getting beat and I think the bog pitch will suit us fine only a commanding win today for the might REDS
