Liverpool make three changes for this afternoon’s Premier League clash with Southampton at Anfield as Xherdan Shaqiri is handed his full debut.

The Swiss forward comes into the starting line-up in place of James Milner, while Roberto Firmino is restored to attack.

Elsewhere, Joel Matip is drafted in for Joe Gomez in the centre of defence.

Not sure Keita settling in as well as most thought he would have started. No problem with changes Just Matip who makes me slightly nervous

Rotation maybe necessary and seen as the right thing these days,  doesn't mean i have to like it

Thought he'd give one of the center backs a rest. Hopefully Matip can return to the form he had two seasons ago.

Looks like Shaquiri as attacking midfielder, and Milner probably just needs a rest.

I think Sturridge on the bench is smart. He is too fragile to be running out again after three days. Look for  him back vs. Chelsea in League Cup.

I am actually not too concerned with VVD at the back tbh, but would have prefered to see Gomez start and then rest both, VVD and Gomez midweek.

Also, Shaqiri should give us that explosiveness and creativity in midfield that we have sorely missed after Ox's injury vs Roma, something Salah has missed too imo.

Makes sense to give Milner a rest. Gomez to take stock, clever move by Klopp. Just precaution in case Gomez makes a mistake that could set his development back a bit. Thought Fabinho might have got the nod over Gini but no problems with the line up. Shadiri should now get a few starts to put pressure on the rest. Clever line up by Klopp.
