      Alison....nothing wrong...7

Gomez......did well going forward, looked a bit jittery under pressure but didn't get roasted by Sterling...6
Lovren......looked at the Ref and I doubt he would've been surprised if a penalty was given....6
Van Dijk.....bad decision to make that tackle, Gomez had he been alongside might've got there, apart from that was his normal self..6
Robinson...Did well going forward as per, didn't get skinned and played well, caught out high once but didn't cost us....7

Hendo...poor for me, did that little pony trot across the back 4 and never looked for space, gave the back 4 hardly any options, looked flat, didn't really put his normal shift in. Played one decent ball over the top that Salah nearly got to but today Hendo was partly to blame for the disconnect between the Back 4 and the attack. I don't expect him to do stuff he can't do but today his bread & butter game was stale... 5
      Milner...injured....7
Gini...Battled, ran his socks off but just couldn't get any real influence in the game....6
Keita....still bedding in, didn't do a great deal that made a huge difference. Not sure his confidence levels are up there just yet...6

Salah...poor service, spent a lot of energy trying to close down City playing out from the back. Had a half chance that he blazed over. Little bit stale as well but keeps going, our attacks just didn't have enough urgency from back to front...6
Firmino.....Ran all over the shop, but most of it was again pressing City. Not much came thru from the midfield and when it did Bobby was in Traffic. 6
Mane...Again lot of pressing, no great runs at the City defence, poor supply lines.Links up well with Robbo but didn't really do much such was the tempo of our attacks.

Strange game in that we quickly ran out of steam after about 10-15 minutes but City pass you to death and it kills your urgency. But the disconnect between the back 4 and the midfield was obvious. The supply line from the back 4 to midfield was so slow and laboured it was difficult for Mane and the rest to apply pressure. We had to try and stay with City and we just about did that. Not sure if switching Gomez was wise. Lovren isn't that great a defender to justify breaking up the Van/Gomez gig.

Seems like we're determined to try every other combination first before allowing Shaq to become the link between midfield and attack.

Shaqiri will have to work harder to get into the first eleven. He played superbly against Southampton and we lead 3-0 but if Klopp has concerns about leaving gaps in the field as was his belief when taking him off at half time in that match then he has every justification for continuing to sit him down on the bench.

I'm sure his moment will arrive this season but it will come when he's knowledgeable of the greater tactical discipline that is required. This is a lad who was managed for a number of seasons by Mark Hughes before he came here so clearly he'll have to step up on a tactical level.

Who'd have thought they would be a day when people are torn between Lovren and Henderson for MotM?

Ha ha. Thought Henderson was good today. Was better in the first half.

It all looks tight at the top now!

just to clarify our position this season we have made up 9 points in 8 games on City last season they had 22 we had 13 that is progress for a side that is not playing to its potential.

Imagine being this shithouse of a fan. We’re undefeated, joint top, not even close to our best yet - and you’re giving up.

Everything that’s wrong with modern fan reactionary sh*t posting right there.

Oh and f**k Coutinho. Better without the injury faking cry-arse little tw*t.

We might not want Coutinho but we're missing a Coutinho-like player.

      Get this International break out of the way and we head into ;
      Huddersfield away
      Red Star at home
      Cardiff at home

Three far more less stressful games which should allow us to grow our creativity and keep the doubters at bay.

City tried to do a Napoli on us today and very nearly succeeded. :o
It's games like today that I can't help but think we really do miss Oxlade Chamberlain out there with his driving runs forward.

Alisson is the biggest difference between this season and last. Even when the rest of the team sucks we picked up points.

we have 7 more points than this time last season when we still had Couthino. How exactly are we missing him and how did we get to a CL final without him.

Hendo had his worst game in a long time. He just didn't look for the ball from the back 4. Now that IS HIS GAME. Picking it up from the back 4 and get it on to the front foot and feed a ball into space or to feet to spark an attack. That is 90% of his game.

Today he was flat. He did that little pony jog across the front of the back 4...the way he does when he plays for England and just didn't show for the ball. He just didn't find those few yards to take possession. It led to very slow build up. No urgency, no pace. I don't expect him to do stuff he can't do and I don't knock him just for the sake of it but as I say his game is the supply from the back 4 into space or to the feet. If Klopp expects Alison and the back 4 to play out from the back...somebody has to show for the ball and today Henderson was flatfooted and didn't do his job.

Henderson was easily our best midfielder today and best player after VVD.

You either didn't watch the game and have a Henderson agenda or you don't understand the game of football.

By and large I'm not one who knocks Hendo. He was poor today. Not because as some say he didn't take the game by the scruff. I'm not surprised you don't agree.

He made 65 passes today, 41 of which were forwards and there were several times he released Gomez down the right or played the ball into our front 3. He also never lost the ball once and won it back for us time after time, his heat map of touches shows he covered the entire pitch, but mostly made himself available to the back 4. He was scream and shouting all match, getting people into order, calling for the ball and getting it. He made big tackles when we needed and I'd be shocked if he wasn't in the top 5 for distance covered on the pitch. He was much more attacking than normal and I thought he was hands down the man of the match for us. I honestly, have literally no idea what you were watching. You've got this one wrong.

      Henderson 4?

Are you blind or just stupid?

I gave him a 5....no I'm not stupid. Making silly insults is not an argument. If you have an opinion on Hendo today...give it..if you haven't...just saying he played well...that's not an argument either....did you notice the disconnect between the back 4...did you see Hendo create space time & time again to pick up the ball off the back 4...no..that's his game..but today he wasn't on blob.
That's one of the reasons we didn't have any urgency in our attacks. It was so slow in the build up and our front 3 were in traffic by the time the ball was played forward.

Why do you think Klopp spent so much on the midfield. He knows we need more creative passing, more urgency from the back 4 onward. If you have a pacy front 3..quick feet etc..you can't take long in getting the ball up to them, if you do they won't have the space to get at the defences.

      Oh sorrrry....your a dope...your stupid..etc etc etc...yawn...

Did anyone see that cringy bollocks on Sky at the start of the second half where they revealed the banner 'Challengers vs Champions'.

F***ing dire sh*te from a broadcaster full to the brim with wankers epitomised by Tyler and Neville's commentary.

we have 7 more points than this time last season when we still had Couthino. How exactly are we missing him and how did we get to a CL final without him.

We have 7 more points than this time last season because this time last season we had Lovren, Matip, Moreno and Mignolet as four of our back five, were as now we have Alisson in goal, Robertson as left back and a CB partnership of Gomez and Van Dijk. That's the difference maker. That's why we are picking up more points.
