I’m sorry but I don’t understand why you take a well functioning Cb pairing (Gomez and Virgi) and disrupt it to make room for  Lovren. We haven’t looked as strong at the back since that pairing was broken up.

Get Wijnaldum and Firmino on for Lallana and Shaqiri. Shore up the midfield. As creative as Shaqiri may be, he is a liability in the middle of the pitch in our set-up.

Think it has more to do with Trent struggling than wanting to make room for Lovren. If Trent had been on his game, I doubt we'd be seeing Lovren in the side.

It did coincide with TAA's horrendous game in Naples. Could be it, too.
