Hey all - we play two more matches in November and eight matches in December and as always, squad rotation becomes a topic for conversation for our supporters.
I thought I'd try a fairly simple little contest for those who are interested. I should say up front there is no prize money for this so nowhere near as good as the match prediction thread! Still, it might be fun for some of you.
The contest hinges on two things: 1) how many players will step on the park for us over the course of the next 10 matches? Doesn't matter if they play all eight matches or sub on once for the final 10 seconds. Both count as one player. Being on the bench but not getting in does not count. If you predict, say, 15 players overall, and the actual number is 13 (or 17), you will be deducted two points from your total. If you are off by three, that's how many points you lose.
2) Which players will play? For each player you name who indeed appears during this 10-match stretch, you get one point. But for each player you name who never appears in the 10 matches, you lose three points. To be clear, you don't predict the lineup for each individual match, but who will play at some point during the 10 matches.
I'll add a tiebreaker just in case: How many total players will score a goal for us during those 10 matches. Own goals for or against do not count as goals scored in this instance.
That's it. You have to predict the number of overall players and list their names in this thread before kickoff vs. Watford on the 24th.
I'll keep track on the scorekeeping. Let's see who on here knows the mind of Jürgen best.
