      We weren’t unlucky
      We were out played.
PSG for all their atrocious theatrics deserved to win
I was hoping that a return to 4-3-3 would see us roll back to a performance from last year. Wasn’t to be
      Few reasons why
Salah is now being marked so tightly, Bobby is out of sorts (perhaps because of the changing of system where his role in a 4-2-3-1 clearly doesn’t suit him) and the lack of a true attacking creative midfielder, which would be vital in providing the opportunities for mane and mo.
I wish also that our midfielders pushed forward more, we’re willing to take a chance and especially in Hendo’s case, take a a shot.
We are in this league position in the champions league because of our away form and in particular the debacle in the Ukraine.
I have faith that we will get the result we need at home against Napoli but once again we have made this far too hard for ourselves.

no pundits were saying if Napoli score than Liverpool need to win by 2 clear goals

      They were saying it.

Henderson should be sold years ago , very poor player we still one worse midfielders in champions league and even premier league, time give keita run games, and boss needs look st buy playmaker next summer and even play Curtis Jones even milner who good pro both him and Henderson both need sold we not going win anything in future with that mild field play toight

      Christ the overreacting gets worse

What happens if we only win 2-1 and they don't score? Do we go through or out.

We're in this league position in particular because we lost last season's final?
EDIT - agree we were outplayed, especially in first half. We simply lacked required quality in performance tonight.

Out on away goals vs. Napoli. I saw what I did and edited it. Sorry. Just trying to put it in black and white instead of guessing.

These CL games are just making it more obvious how blunt the midfield are and in effect putting so much more pressure on the front 3 to create something out of nothing like the Mane Penno.

The signs have been there for quite a while.

These are the tiebreakers, with comments added
(I think it goes without saying we have to win. IF we draw it's Europa League - barring a Red Star win over PSG in which case we're out with a draw.)

      1. Points in head-to-head matches among tied teams; (any win would have us equal on this)
      2. Goal difference in head-to-head matches among tied teams; (any one-goal win has us equal, any win of more than one goal puts us through).
      3. Goals scored in head-to-head matches among tied teams; a one-goal win keeps us equal, Two or more goals margin of win puts us through.

      4. Away goals scored in head-to-head matches among tied teams; IF we only win by one and they score, we're out and they advance.
5.Goal difference in all group matches; Any win gives us at least an equal goal difference as we would be at least +2 and they would be at best +2. A two goal win and our GD is better.
      6. Goals scored in all group matches - Any win and we advance on this as we're already one to the good (this is where 1-0 puts us in)
      7. Away goals scored in all group matches; (Wouldn't get to this because of 4 and 6  but if they score they would advance on this).
      8. Wins in all group matches; (winner would get this)
Away wins in all group matches; (Napoli gets this if they win - but decided before this)
      9l Disciplinary points (red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3 points);
UEFA club coefficient. (thankfully will not come to this).

sorry for the confusion - i edited it three times.

Practically I suppose this means Napoli will feel if they can score they will advance (not automatic, but they should like their chance if they score).

Imagine Martin Tyler describing the scene at Anfield in December 2004 against Olympiakos...if Henderson was playing.

"Riise - his touch was a bit strong. Here's Carragher, trying to stay cool.

      Mellor...lovely cushioned header for VIRGIL..."

      That would do.

Jet fuel can't melt steel beams...but Henderson can.

But seriously, I don't see a problem with people criticising Henderson for an inept midfield display. For me the only debate was who was worse - Hendo or Gini? Either way there's problems there against opponents of a high standard which I don't believe they have the capabilities to handle.

      No
      Ok
Let’s try again and phrase in a clearer way.
We are in the situation in the Champions League table because we deserve to be. We haven’t performed THIS season consistently well in Europe

Our set pieces still disappoint aswell.
With Lovren, VVD and others in the box [big lads], why we don't have guys getting on the end of anything in recent months is a mystery.
      Free kicks too.
Must be something we can improve on...

Love the positivity- shall we not bother turning up then ? Going to sell your ticket ?

If being positive had any influence on the result of a game then we would win everything...
Chance or no chance I will still support my team and hope we find away to pull it off. But I go into the game knowing that it is a massive ask, especially  the way we are playing at present
