Can’t believe you had to explain why a left back is playing at left back...

Guys, during the game if Gomez performs badly it is not his fault.
Remember he is being played out of position.. he is a natural CB.

Same goes to you with Henderson, he's not a natural holding midfielder....

Good enough for the 3 points I reckon, has to keep the squad players match fit, and this is a good match to get them time on the pitch.

I have a feeling Keita will give us a MOTM performance!

Cant wait to see him in action

Anyone else who sees this working as some sort of diamond in midfield? Origi and Sturridge have done well as a partnership up top before.

That was my first thought.  Was reluctant to call it a front three because I think you could be right about the diamond.

      Yeah! I hope so.
I've not gone to this game... I'll only travel to see games in the summer really, even then it's usually Saturday or Sunday games.
I'd imagine a lot of people living in Liverpool have travelled though, Burnley is only around 1 hr to travel.

Not the biggest fan of the Henderson Milner combo but at least Keita should add some forward thrust from midfield.

A lot of changes but if the back ups can’t beat Burnley then they have no right being at LFC.

Ohhh dear, just too many changes for me. Not suggesting the replacements  are all crap, but will they have time to really gell ?
Do they know each other’s game well enough to perform fluently and cohesively ?
I’ve got my doubts. I know one thing for sure. Burnley would have seen this side and their confidence would have gone up a few notches, even though they’ve made changes themselves. They are clearly trying to strengthen following a dire period, and we have clearly weakened our line up.
I’m praying we all connect brilliantly and go on to win by a comfortable margin, but this could come back and bite us on the arse.
To me rotation is changing two, possibly 3 players, then at the next opportunity, rest another 2 or 3 while the first 3 return to the line up.
7 changes, barring the keeper, is just 3 off the whole side.
      Very very scary for me.

Happy enough with that line up except for Moreno. Always got to keep your fingers crossed he won't cost you. Be interesting to see how the front 3 do, but should be ok.

Anyone else who sees this working as some sort of diamond in midfield? Origi and Sturridge have done well as a partnership up top before. Henderson at the base of midfield with both Milner (probably on the left to provide cover for Moreno) and Keita on the right? Shaqiri to play behind both strikers in a free role. That midfield three should provide plenty of cover for him to roam around and for Moreno to get involved offensively.
Maybe. But when we signed Shaquiri I thought of him as a wide player first. We could still go 4-3-3 with Origi and Shaq wide and Daniel central. Divock is best when he has a chance to run with the ball.

I named 9 of 11 in the team in the pre-match thread (didn't realize Clyne was injured) . Even I'm surprised he made this many changes, but I totally get it. These lads are making tonnes of money to train and watch, so time for them to step up and contribute.
