I think we have enough to win, but this is not our strongest line up.
Fabinho can play LB for Brazil but here we are rolling with Moreno at LB again?  ???
Those people who quoted Klopp saying Fab can be DM, CM and FB can see this as clear evidence he is here to be DM or he'd be starting not Moreno.
Cardboard cutout would do more at FB.

Moreno is the back up left back - Robbo is out injured so the back up comes in - itā€™s no more complicated than that.

Thought that it would have been, a slightly stronger side. Although a good looking bench.

Guess Klopp cares more about Saturday & Napoli next week than today.

Wouldn't surprise me if it's a 1-0 or 0-0 finish in our favor.

Burnley have made five changes as well.  Sam Vokes on the bench!

This kind of thing makes me wonder if both managers have had a 'pre match chat'...
no chance, we need to rotate players... next up is a tough game against Bournemouth and then Napoli, but I still think Fab should have started.. he is a guy that needs minutes.

A rotated line up because we are hitting a bery busy period - it was always going to happen and the players going into the team are all experienced international players

I can see that mate, it was an expression - letā€™s hope they come through with a win

I'm an admirer of Klopp but why is Moreno our backup LB? what has he done to deserve that?
I'm a great believer of earning a spot not being gifted a spot.
The amount of games we have this month means we will see a lot of Moreno and if Robbo gets an injury that keeps him out for a couple of months, I don't see how we will compete with city. Klopp should consider Fab for full back backup. Like I said, he did a good job there for Brazil.

Anyone else who sees this working as some sort of diamond in midfield? Origi and Sturridge have done well as a partnership up top before. Henderson at the base of midfield with both Milner (probably on the left to provide cover for Moreno) and Keita on the right? Shaqiri to play behind both strikers in a free role. That midfield three should provide plenty of cover for him to roam around and for Moreno to get involved offensively.

Probably he did, but would it be that much different to switch to the left? there is also the option of putting him as CM then dropping Milner to LB. There are options for backup that are better than Moreno.

      Yeh think so.

Too unbalanced as a 3 for me.

Jesus Christ, well this could either be a master stroke going into the festive period or we are going to see it go horribly wrong and City be in a comfortable position.
The problem is not this game, I think we will win comfortably today... but Moreno shouldn't be backup.. barely kicked a ball this season and he's terrible even when first choice.

I agree, they'll be getting in each others way in a 3.
I would imagine Shaqiri will be number 10 with Origi and Sturridge up top.

How can someone ā€œearnā€ a back up spot ?!

      Has to be, surely.

Maybe Divock peels left and Shaqiri peels right at times.

Seven changes, but it's hardly like it's the kids being sent in.  All more than experienced enough Premier League players and seeing as they're all on tens of thousands a week - may as well do some Christmas overtime.

Worth giving them all a bash IMO.  Come on Keita lad - give us a performance!

Yep and exactly what we build a squad for.

If we can't play these players against the likes of Burnley then I'm not sure when we can.

Easily good enough side to win this one.

                       Shaqiri,

                  Sturridge, Origi

You mean this, I can't imagine how else this line up works.
Henderson is going to have to cover LB a lot today.

Klopp explains Liverpool's seven changes v Burnley
      Chris Shaw@__ChrisShaw

JĆ¼rgen Klopp has explained why the quality of his squad encouraged him to make seven changes for the Premier League clash with Burnley.

Liverpool take on the Clarets at Turf Moor this evening seeking to extend a 14-match unbeaten start to the season, three days after a dramatic Merseyside derby victory.

Asked about his alterations to the line-up, Klopp said ahead of kick-off: ā€œThatā€™s absolutely normal in this period of the season.

ā€œI said to the boys in the meeting: I have done the job now for a while and if somebody would have told me 15 years ago I could change seven positions and have a line-up like that, I would have said it was not possible.

ā€œWe do it because we can do it, because we have to do it in two or three cases, and because we can do it because we have these boys. They train really hard.

ā€œThe midfielders played a lot of games already. We had to change the midfield, the most intense area of the pitch. Using Daniel was clear; Div after the last game makes sense, using the momentum, trying to use it. Alberto ā€“ Robbo played pretty much all the games so far. Gini played a lot of games.

ā€œThereā€™s always a reason. But, in the end, you cannot only change; you have to make sure that it fits, that itā€™s tuned. The two sessions we had where we could work a little bit on it, it looked really well, so Iā€™m looking forward to this game.

Guys, during the game if Gomez performs badly it is not his fault.
Remember he is being played out of position.. he is a natural CB.
