      Here are my thoughts:

      1. Pretty decent 2nd half after a weak 1st half. Not a methodical win, but also nothing to moan about.
      2. Sturridge is not up to the game anymore, he's too slow with too little work rate; let him be our joker and part ways after the season.
      3. Shaq is also pretty slow which answers the question why he's not world class despite his ball skills; did have an OK game.
      4. Keita is  :-* , just a skillful player and it's just the beginning; would not be surprised if he's Ballon d'Or candidate in 1-2 years.
      5. Gomez is some blow but we have Lovren, so no disaster.
      6. I still hope for Fekir; if this dude hits it and stays injury-free he might be our last puzzle piece to a dynasty; we are close but not there yet.
      7. Moreno was OK, nobody was exceptional today, but also nobody did sh*t.

Watching in stand didntq get clear  view of their goal did Alisson have  a shocker ?

Was tricky because he was going one way and the Burnley player was right in front and had flick at the ball (but missed it) hence the first touch, he did then get his hands On the ball but didn’t quite gather it and had it kicked out of his mitts. I wouldn’t put the blame on him, in truth if TAA has stepped up the lad blocking his view would have been off side

That was not a poor performance. You can't always turn up away from home and batter the home team.

That game showed we have the bottle and the grit to hang in there.

Don't mistake resilience for a good performance. We held in there despite performing very poorly until Jürgen made changes and it was only once those changes were made that we began to trouble Burnley. I'm made up with the result but let's not kid ourselves into thinking that was anything other than a poor showing from our fringe players.

      Ace result.

Naby was class, gutted for him he didn't score with that cheeky flick that was cleared of the line or that piledriver he hit with his left foot.
      He'll get his goals soon.

      My only two gripes ;
Studge doesn't half piss about with the ball and Matip still runs like a baby giraffe.

Solid 3 points.... get in !

      On the money mate.

I’ll take some hammer I’m sure but I really don’t think that was a bad performance from effectively a scratch team.

Their goal aside I think we got stronger and stronger as it went on.

Have we ever been 16 points ahead of the Mancs in the Premier League era? (Doh! Obviously in 2013-14!)

      Honestly I don’t agree mate.

Each to their own but for me that sort of squad showing is how leagues are fought for and contested.

You say 'we're close but we're not there yet' to building a DYNASTY but you've spent the last few matches saying 'it is what it is', 'we're so poor and that is the reality' etc etc.

      Word of advice pal...

Don’t underestimate the importance of resilience though. We haven’t really had any for 10 years, plenty of good performances in that time but zero ability to grind out results, defend, have confidence in our ability to defend etc. It gets downplayed too much.

As for the performance, it was poor in the first half but we played well in the 2nd half from kickoff through to the finish. The goal was the only blip.

Wasn't really a massive mistake.  Think he was expecting the first lad to get a touch to it.  In any case, he had a pretty excellent game and yet again played a key part in an injury time goal.

People say how much van Dijk has improved our defence, but the goalkeeper has taken it to a different level.  6 goals conceded after 15 is the joint best ever.  And it was less than 12 months ago that many on here were in agreement that Klopp couldn't coach a team to defend.  Astonishing transformation really.

Poor squad? Poor squads don't run second in the Premier League.

This one does. When you see mahrez and sane as City backup and them flying without De Bruyne you see what we are up against when we call on Sturridge and Origi.

It will be these midweek games and games after champions league ties in which Klopp looks to his squad options that will trip us up I believe.

The Gomez injury now brings Matip and Lovren in to the equation. Moreno played today.

It's not a poor squad in PL standards because many teams would love to have it but to take on City it's still a huge handicap.

Milner scored before "Jürgen made changes".
      It's a squad game.
Today Jürgen used the squad and it went something like this.

Jürgen: Firmino, Salah. Time to win the game.

Firmino: Feel fresh as F**k now for the end of this.

      Tiring Burnley: Ah FFS

Klopp rotates heavily again during this early December double header just like last year. But last year we played an Everton team managed by Sam Allardyce and a wretched West Brom side managed by Alan Pardew and where we only got two points from those two games we get maximum points from these two we've just played.
