How is the yellow card still a debate?

It’s a yellow whether you’re playing in England or the UCL.

It doesn’t matter that he got the ball. He followed through with his studs showing and was given a card.

Seen plenty of those not given as a foul in the prem, but pretty much always given in Europe along with a card.

Having said that, my view is always "what would I think of that challenge if it was on one of our players" and in this instance I'd be pretty F***ing pissed off if an opposition player didn't get pinged for it.

I noticed they didn't put Alisson there.
I wonder how much Nike pay Uefa to make Neymar POTW.

Wonderful result but we must get better at finishing our chances, we won't always have that many good chances to score in a match, Ideally I'd love to get another top striker into the team to provide some competition because I think our front three are a bit too comfortable at times.

      Agreed.
Salah is trying dribble the ball into goal. But i can't fault him,  he was surrounded by defenders all the time. But Mane, i have watched him closely many times, only the goalkeeper to beat but trying to burst the net and score a superstar goal. Yes, probably he'll score a superstar goal once in 5 tries but misses 4, why not score 4 normal goals and miss once. Just saying.

While I did enjoy seeing Mertens crunched. I seen a lot of people talking about how ‘he got the ball’ even though that aspect of a tackle has very oddly never been part of the laws of football. It’s all about how you go into the tackle and if any harm can result in your approach.

The referee has to judge if VvD entered the tackle:

      a) Carelessly
      b) Recklessly
      c) With Exsessive Force

Now for me it was carelessly as I imagine he couldn’t care less what happened that c**t Mertens. Means it a free kick, no yellow. Ref thought it was b so it’s a free and a yellow.

Just some clarification, it’s very weirdly not to do with ‘getting the ball’ which it probably should be

VVD deserved yellow. Matip and Gomez will be back by last 16 I think, so we'll cope with the suspension.
