what do people think of pongolle? he seems to be totally forgotten. I'm not sure rafa has him in his plans this year; however if we don't get defoe, isn't it better if he features in the pre season more. I personally think he is ok, and he could bet better with more guidance and more games under his belt.

No f**ker will have him though. We need to get rid of Diao and Kirkland, permanently.

Hang on to Flo-Po though, I rate him.

i'd only pit crouch as a squad player not an important one. And if Flo-po is given some guidance by Fowler possibly i think he could be to p quality.

Agree with most stuff on this thread about Sin.

Here comes that big but though, it might have something to do with his commitment. Rafa and most reds would not want to see

Sinama high-fiving one of his french teammates in a manc shirt after the game in which rio scored that last-minute winner

and Sinama wearing an everton scarf at the derby game at anfield last season

Methinks rafa planning to bin him off, but again I could be wrong!!!

you could be right huyton red but the thing is ,i personally think, with the right guidance he could be a sound player. however it is difficult to get a regular run in our team and i donlt think this suits the poor lad. this is also one of my arguments FOR defoe. the boy plays a bit there and a little here. there  seems to be acquiesce with this and thus scores when he comes on (''acquiesce '' inspired by oasis)

so come on rafa, lets put interest back on defoe. we mayh need media help. does anyone no anyone in the ECHO?

He said this earlier this week to Futbol Mundial

"Today I don't have any desire to go back and sweat blood and tears again in England."

"What I have out here in Spain suits me very well and I'd like to stay whether it's at Recreativo or somewhere else."

Sinama's a promising chap but if he feels he playing better in spain then good luck to him.Rafa should start looking at the players we've sent out on loan to see which ones must be sold or kept.We must cut down our squad size starting from those on loan

If Florent Sinama Pongolle is 'happy enough' playing for Recreativo Nomarks then Rafa was right to F**k him off.

Sorry to go a bit Ron Atkinson, but French footballers are all a lazy bunch of self-righteous pricks.  How they won the World Cup is beyond me.  They only won it cos Ronaldo went mental.

Name me one good French footballer...

...apart from Pires, Zidane, Desailly, Platini......etc ;)

      Okay name me ten. ::)

So Marvellous that... we've sold him.

      http://www.anfield-online.co.uk/lfc-news/2007/05/05/liverpool-sell-striker-for-27-million/

Another Rafa 'profit'. How does he keep doing these incredible deals.  He certainly has the 'loans' worked down to a tee.

Shame to see him go, but he obviously had attitude issues.  Sitting at an Anfield derby when he was on loan at Blackburn with an Everton scarf on is just plain F***ing stupid.

Goodbye Flo.  You weren't bad.  But you weren't F***ing Pele either.

Another £3 million towards next years Premiership bonus package ;)

That post was in July, we still had him then. Fortunately he has gone now, although he could prove to be a thorn in our side when we play against him in Europe & the prem. He's gone to our deadly rivals and fellow premiership contenders, Stoke.

Sinama-Pongolle In And Out Of Atlético

Florent Sinama-Pongolle has agreed to sign for Atlético de Madrid, but will then be loaned out immediately for a season to either Racing Santander and Benfica.

Los Colchoneros struck the deal because they want the French striker on their books, but only at the end of next term because they have agreed to sign Ricardo Oliveira.

The Brazilian still has to decide if the wants to go to Vicente Calderón on loan from Real Zaragoza and that is one reason the club were keen to have a back-up option.

If Oliveira agrees and does move then it could become permanent next summer should los Maños fail to win promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking.

After travelling to Madrid on Tuesday, Sinama-Pongolle held further talks with Atleti the following day and underwent some of the required medical.

Now he is set to move away again with both Racing and Benfica interested in his services for a one year loan deal.

One player to be leaving the Spanish capital club is Braulio and he is set to sign for Zaragoza for €2m despite earlier reports that he had moved to Real Valladolid.

A transfer was in place with Valladolid for €1.6m, but the higher offer meant that talks were called off and a deal was quickly clinched to send him to la Romareda.

The merry-go-round with Atlético will continue with president Enrique Cerezo announcing that some surprise signings would now be made by the club.
