Disappointing, especially the midfield selection, Klopp needs to stop his love in with Milner, its ridiculous, as soon as Fabinho came on we looked better. Until he took Mane off, wtf was that about?
Final point when is Gomez back because Lovren is starting to annoy me again.

We'll bounce back from this and City have the tougher fixtures in the run in.

Obviously massively disappointing is my immediate reaction.

But you have to look at the bigger picture and put things into perspective. This is our first defeat of the season... in JANUARY.. against a top team at their ground. We are still 4 points ahead of them with some fixtures coming up that allow us to potentially go on another winning run.

It’s not as bad as some of you are making it out to be. It’s not ideal tonight, but my god I would’ve snapped your hand off for the league standings to look like this at the start of season.

Some of you lads need to get a grip.

A tight game where we lost by one goal to the best side in the league, apart from us, and you're losing your sh*t.

We didn't play well, our tactics and selection weren't quite right in hindsight but the world hasn't ended.

We're still four points clear and if anyone gave you that at this stage before the league started you'd have grabbed it with both hands.

Pissed off with that, thought on chances we done enough to at least get a draw. Don’t think we were anywhere near our best tonight. Not enough fast ball going forward. Troubled them when we did, but too often it was pass, foot on the ball for 3-4 secs, then pass, etc etc.
      Not enough one touch .
Looked better when Fab came on, but would have kept Mane on and hooked Hendo. Not because he was crap or anything, but we needed the extra attacking dimention.
Anyway, that’s just a small reprieve for them, confident they won’t beat us to the title.
Unbeaten record gone, but hey ho, who gives a F**k now. All that will do is fire us up.

You don’t go there and dominate it was always gonna be a snipey “take your chances” type game with so much quality cancelling one and other out.

I think the flag should’ve gone up for their second and Kompany should’ve been off but we’ll play much worse and win handsomely against poorer opposition.

Most points after 38 games wins and - even with that tonight - we’ve still outpointed them by 6 since start December.

Form line is great, we’re a great side........don’t sh*t the bed folks for fucks sake. It just betrays how much you wanna win and your neuroses - not the state of the league.

How can he pick a slow trio of ginny, hendo and milner against a world class midfield.

That's why I hope we still go for Fekir. We need more quality in the midfield. Against almost all teams our's is enough, but against Barca, Juve or City it's not. But again: JĂźrgen had to play it safe. What reliable options did he have?

If we have been braver to attack them down the flanks we would have punished their defence. We simply gave their defence too much respect.

Yet he did more in those few touches than many of the lads. Absolutely ridiculous to pretend that his legs are done. The man has such quality. We were crying out for him.

Chelsea was precisely the same. Rubbish performance. About to lose... Boom! Sturridge saved us. Tonight, he didn't get the chance. Crazy decision to keep him on the bench with us losing like that.

      You're joking right?

Stu's legs are gone this is common knowledge.

It’s weird how people see different games

Thought Gini was awful - poor on the ball , lost runners and offered little - seemed to be running on empty

      Milner just didn’t look fit

I noticed in the first twenty mins the ball kept bouncing of Gini's shins he looked terribly nervous.
Next league game lets simply destroy them

We were unlucky. 1cm away from scoring, and they must have cleared their line about 3 times on top of that. Hardly a crisis. If your response to losing our first league game in the 21st round against one of the world's best teams, away from home, is to go hysterical, then it's your problem, not the team's. Seriously. We'll move on. Still top by a good margin.

Fabinho came on we looked better.

Because City was leading and slightly more defensive. Don't confuse correlation with causation.

Have to make sure now that we don't let this result affect the rest of the season.

Just go on another winning run... simples.

Man City messed themselves up with those recent 3 losses.

but Citeh were more hungry, that annoys me.

They're at home, 7 points behind us so naturally they might have had that extra incentive tonight.

Don't think they were any more hungry just the odds of them winning slightly higher than for us in a tight game.

Front three didn't do enough for me against make shift back 4 didnt see anyone run at or commit Laporte or Kompany when on yellows. Fernandino destroyed our Midfield head and shoulders best player on park. Got to pick ourselves up now . Need to get a result at Wolves don't want to lose two on trot before Brighton

Which is partly the midfielders fault, they done F**k all in an attacking sense all game.

As for the self proclaimed best defender in the world... Don't even get me started. Garbage centre half.

Played much better when Fabinho came on.

If we try more we get more. Klopp did the right thing. The rest is hindsight.

When I played That's what I would have done, Run at Laporte and Kompany all game long and force them to put in a tackle, hoped both Salah and Mane would have done that
