I'd like to see a more technical attack minded midfield setup when we face them next.

I'd like to see a neutral, unaffected official refereeing the game instead of a manc who actually supports Citeh.

Yeah strange one that. Should've been Michael Oliver for this game, and Anthony Taylor for the Arsenal one.

I look at it like this.

They played against us like we play every game.

High press, cause the midfield to turn over the ball.

We just didn’t have an answer to being given a dose of our own medicine.

It’s not the end of the world.  I just believe in this team.

One thing I really noticed was before a set piece Henderson directing Virgil where the line should be.

Virgil was arguing with him and ended up listening to Hendo.

The high line led to an offside.  This shows me that Hendo is the coach on the field.

We probably didn't do enough to win the game, but we were unlucky to not get a point. Thankfully, we had enough of an advantage in the table beforehand to absorb a result like this. We would have taken this advantage just last month, let alone the start of the season, and we can restore the 7 points gap we had, by winning at Brighton.

It's important now that we go to Wolves, put out a strong side to get the job done, and ensure this result is a footnote at the end of the season, rather than the beginning of the form everyone has been warning us about. So get back to winning ways asap, starting on Monday.

      Wow.  All those words.

All you really needed to say was

      “I know nothing about football.”

Well I'm 31. Been going to the match since I was 5 years old. First game was Fulham at home in 93. We won 5-0 and god scored all five. Fell in love with Liverpool, anfield and god there and then.

Joined my first team when I was 7. Played at a decent and fairly high level all through my life. And now I'm coaching football.

So I think I know a little bit about the sport yeah. It's been a big part of my life. Probably more than it ever has in yours to be honest. I've probably watched more football matches than you've had hot dinners whether that's amature, semi pro, pro or just some weird Chinese u18 v India u18 game I've found on a stream that id rather watch when my mrs has X factor on  xxxxx:action-smiley-065:

So now there's a debate about the possibility that Kane was in fact Offside despite the technology used by VAR..

Now can we agree that the ball did in fact cross the line?  :f_tongueincheek:

      Quote from HamannsTheMan
klopp knows when it's right to introduce his players to the team so we will have to patiently wait.

Oh he can play a role alright. There are certain moments in certain games we need, what people refer to as 'fresh legs'. Henderson can do that perfectly fine. Help us see out games. Help keep our other players fit and fresh.

But he shouldn't be starting any more. Certainly not in the big games against opposition who are miles better than him. Again, like hardcore above me, I think he will start less as time goes on.

It looks like you'll be waiting a fair amount of time though, because Hendo-Gini-Milner is the default midfield Jürgen turns to, for the more difficult games. Fabinho mostly plays when he has time to create, and Keita usually plays when he has the space to show off his nutmeg skills, e g. Bournemouth etc. For games where we have to defend for a fair amount of time, such as City (a), he and Fab won't be anywhere near the starting XI. Ditto the European trips. Jürgen likes to take his time introducing players and there's merit in that, but Robbo only got in the side on a regular basis because Moreno came off injured against Spartak Moscow. Before then Robbo was a bit part player while Moreno was smashing plates on a weekly basis.

Are there upgrades on Hendo and Lovren? Yes of course, but I don't know where exactly we will find them. After Brexit, freedom of movement ends, so signing players from abroad will be that bit more difficult and restrictive. That leaves us with having to sign players from clubs in our own league. The top clubs won't sell players to us, so that leaves us with more Southampton level players at inflated prices, who may not be the next Mane's and VVD's. And when they don't turn out to be like them, people will be here asking "why did we even sign him? He's a poor man's Hendo".

Lovren played because we had to play him, so there is little point slaughtering him after every goal that goes in. He's a decent back up option, unfortunately he has the tendency to nod off at a time we can least afford it, but that's nothing new. He's now out for the foreseeable future, so you can forget about his ability to keep the opposition out, for a while.

More cheating refeering. Against Wolves diving kunt sterling pulled defender back raced pass him, stretched his leg to hit wolve defender's leg and DIVED to the ground. Penalty. I hope the idiotic papers write something about it.
