Brighton & Hove Albion 0-1 Liverpool: In game and Post Match discussion
      Jan 12, 2019 02:00:52 pm

Amex is waiting for the Mighty Reds

      https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1084086649749979137

Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Fabinho, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Shaqiri, Firmino, Mane, Salah.

Subs: Mignolet, Milner, Keita, Moreno, Origi, Matip, Camacho.

Liverpool make nine changes for this afternoon’s Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Only Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri retain their places in the starting line-up from the team deployed against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup tie on Monday night.

Jordan Henderson is named in midfield at the Amex Stadium after recovering from a knock and Joel Matip is included among the substitutes, but Daniel Sturridge is absent from the matchday squad due to a virus.

Back to winning please. We need this win more than the City game. We need to show that we are there to continue to fight.

Best line up Klopp could have picked today. I've not always backed his line ups but that's 10/10 in my opinion.

No problem with Fabinho filling in again at the back. Him and van Dijk are going have to decide which one of them is going to be responsible for the forward balls though - that's my only concern that they both hesitate and wait for the other to start the play.

Reasonable to give Shaqiri a run out and only other concern is that I read Henderson only had one training session before this game?

Come on the reds.  Be ruthless.

Fabinho holding his back 4 position. May be Klopp might've gone with my slightly off the wall suggestion bout 8 months ago - Henderson alongside Van Dijk.

Still like the attacking line up - lets hope Brighton cooperate.

      Trained yesterday apparently.
At this stage of the season he should be fit and sharp even after missing a weeks training.

The player who forward passes will be the player who has the ball when the pass is available. No point in passing it side ways, chance can turn into danger when closed down.

That's a better line up than I expected, good to have Henderson available and Matip on the bench.
I'm going for 3-1 to us.

I think Henderson is likely to be taken off for Keita in second half, because he is likely not 100% ready, but Klopp obviously thinks he's ready to start. Fit to start and 90 minutes fit are different things.

One sub we might see (depending how the match unfolds of courrse, is Matip for Henderson, where Joel plays alongside Virgil and Fabinho moves up next to Gini. Neither Matip nor Hendo are likely fit to go 90 minutes coming off of injury and illness, so this might work to get them back in the swing of things.

If we can win comfortably, might even see Rafa Camacho get a run out at his more favored attacking position.

      Looking forward to this one.

Yeah that would make sense, a bit more defensive at the start of the match then step it up later on.

Matip isn't coming on for Henderson. I don't need a crystal ball for that.

Don't think fitness is a problem at this stage of the season. Different if he was out for a month like say Joe Matip. As long as Hendo's injury isn't causing a problem he's unlikely to lose fitness so quickly.
