Gini and Trent out for this one then?

      Alisson

      Milner    Matip    Van Dijk    Robertson

      Fabinho

      Henderson    Keita

      Salah    Firmino    Mane

Save Shaqiri as an impact sub.

Palace aren't very good so I expect 3 points this weekend.

      Yup my team too Si

I’m going up to Anfield for this one!

Staying overnight - any good recommendations for a boozy night out?

I’d be tempted to go Naby for Shaq - keen to see Naby get a run.

      Otherwise spot on for me.

Gives Gini - our top mid by a mile - a week back in his legs too.

I think your right over Nabby. Klopp must get his squad up to speed. Shaq has done very well, he's up to speed. Nabby needs an opportunity to kick start his season and I think we can beat Palace with a bit to spare. Why not take this chance to get him up to speed.

      Gini is a huge loss.

      For me...

                           Allisson

      Milner     Fabinho  VVD  Robbo

                Shaq    Hendo  Naby

      Origi              Bobby            Mo

Think Mane might do well from being dropped and would give us something from the bench

I was surprised Clyne was loaned out. Surpose it was hard to see TAA, Joe Gomez,Lovren and Joe Matip all suffering injuries of some sort. If that level of injury hit our front 6 squad we can wave goodbye to the Title.

      If Gini out as well:

Alisson; Milner, Matip, VVD, Robertson; Hendo, Fabinho, Keita; Salah, Firmino, Mane.

If Matip is fit I'd be tempted to play Fab as RB to give a little bit of extra protection down that flank, against Zaha, and then play a midfield three of Hendo, Keita and Shaq, bringing Milner in if need to get more defensive. I think that team should comfortably see off Palace 3-0

Milner is more than capable at right back - happy for him to play there.

Despite all the injuries - the team is still looking really strong. Can’t wait to see the front 3 cause mayhem

You really think Milner is quick enough to cope with Zaha??

Wilfried Zaha (if Fit) v.s. James Milner. a long old day for Milner if palace chose to play him on that side
But If Matip starts them I expect Fab' to start at RB

Not sure I like the idea of Fabinho in space vs Saha either tbh, he's not exactly the quickest from a standing start. It's really important that one of our midfield three get across and support the right back no matter who plays there. Will be less necessary if Saha plays through the middle though. Hopefully they won't have the ball and we're two up by half-time!

As for team selection i'd go with Clint's team in the first post. I really like what Keita can bring to the team but I would go for Shaq ahead of him right now, particularly given Shaqs goal return in home matches recently.

But this isn't just about finding a right back for Palace TAA will be out for 5/6 games. A month or so will take him up to Mancheater United away. So he could miss Bayern Munich so this is a serious problem for Klopp. He might rue sending Clyne out on loan.

We have Milner but it's not ideal. I personally think it's a bit unfair to put Fabinho in there. I think loaning Clyne was a mistake as I would've played him even if TAA was fit.Not every time but having just TAA as your only specialist right back for such an important run in is a risky policy. A risk Klopp didn't have to take

Clyne was 4th choice at best - he played once this year when TAA , Gomez and Milner were not available - it was clear the manager didn’t see him the plans

      The players will be fine

Clyne was second choice for right back. Clyne is a quality full back. He's had injuries but has 14 full England caps and over 70 games for us. So to dismiss him as 4th choice is a poor post.

He wasn’t second choice - Gomez played when TAA was rested and then when both of them were not available Milner played

He only played when 3 other people in front of him couldn’t play

I think that Klopp would prefer to play Milner at RB than Clyne mate so i'm not sure Clyne would have got the nod ahead of Milner this weekend even if he had still been at the club tbh. I strongly suspect Clyne would still be at the club if he was seen as next in line at RB in the event of an injury, don't you?

I'm happy with Milner to deputise there, I read a few posters saying that Clyne offers more than Milner going forward? I thought that was nonsense. defensively I think Clyne has the edge but I think we will be alright with these lads for the rest of the season and I would assume that this is the pecking order:

      1. TAA
      2. Gomez
      3. Milner
      4. Fabinho

PS. Don't forget Milner played an entire season at Left-Back under Klopp so I don't think he would view him as an emergency player playing out of position. He's the most adaptable player in the squad.

This. Not sure why anyone would think Clyne was 2nd choice RB, the lad couldn't get a game for love nor money! Having said that hindsight is a wonderful thing and I suspect he'd be staying put if Klopp could have foreseen our current injury problems in defence.
