What type of player is he, and is he more a central midfielder or attacking one?

Haha! Lately he's been playing more as a forward than as midfielder actually, he has a big tall striker alongside him in Seferovic who's really mediocre to be honest, but João Félix despite his age makes Seferovic look like a much better player. I don't watch every Benfica match so I'm no expert, but he seems to be intelligent enough to play in a variety of attacking positions, and despite not being that tall he's even scored a couple of headers in his short career so far. What I find most impressive for someone so young is the way he sees the game and knows how to keep it simple sometimes, differently to some kids who try too hard.

      So he scored once ;).

Seriously though, it really helps having someone who watches him play, personally I’ve never heard of him until this, expect that’s the same with a lot of people so it’s good getting your insight on the player. If he’s as good as you say he is, then hopefully we don’t pass him by.

What’s his work rate like? Aside from having potential, does he look like he’d have the work rate that is expected from Klopp?

Haha yeah but the goal that was ruled out was probably a better finish from outside the box which was quite impressive, but ended up being ruled out due to a foul in the play leading up to it.

He's only been a starter for a short period but every time I watch him he looks seriously impressive. As for his work-rate, it seems good enough for me but the Portuguese league isn't exactly the most demanding of leagues for a Benfica player. I think he's intelligent enough to adapt though and work hard.

On Wednesday I'll be at the Estádio da Luz to watch Benfica vs Sporting (they play again but this time for the Cup), hopefully he'll start and I'll get to have a better look at his movement in the stadium

Watched him live last night, the game itself wasn't great and he was upfront with Seferovic, he wasn't as lively or as involved as he had been in the league game on the weekend, but he still looks a level above every time he has the ball. And even not at his best, he did play a big part in Benfica's 2nd goal, which was awarded as an own goal to former LFC man Tiago Ilori :D

And another player I'm a fan of scored a great free kick last night, Bruno Fernandes for Sporting: https://streamja.com/jA0o

Bruno is way too good for Sporting, his talent is wasted there.

Still haven’t watched anything but clips of the kid but I’m a massive fan of Fernandes.

You think he’d hack the physicality / Helter Skelter of the Prem?

I know he’s played in Serie A bit that’s a much more measured pace.

      I think he would personally.

Yes I do, and I totally think we should have gone after him in the summer - the kind of goalscoring attacking midfielder that would have been a nice addition. I know we went after Fekir but I think he'd have been a good alternative. Of course the Portuguese league is far from great but he's extremely talented and although not exactly big or particularly strong, he has that great ability of protecting the ball as the likes of Coutinho or David Silva also have and they did pretty well in the EPL.

Yeh he kinda glides doesn’t he.

Bernardo Silva is probably the player I covet most from a rival.

He's such a natural talent, love watching him.

His 1st "assist" (had some luck there but his ball control is exquisite) https://streamja.com/v54q
      His goal https://streamja.com/wO43
      His 2nd assist https://streamja.com/Ep71

Benfica now 1 point behind Porto. Next league match? Porto vs Benfica. Should be interesting

Good luck keeping him that long. By the sounds of it and how he seems to be playing, he’s gone in the summer. Someone will go in for him and pay whatever it takes.

Hopefully us if he’s as good as being made out.

He's one of the main reasons behind Benfica's resurgence in the league. They were quite far behind but with the win in Porto last night, they're now top with a 2 points lead.

He'll end up at Barca or Real Madrid if he's that good, or Wolves if he isn't quite good enough yet.

Wolves can’t afford him, Benfica have said they have no financial problems meaning they have to sell players so only release clauses being met will do it.
