Like to see us shoot from distance now and again to mix it up. Surely there more than ox can score from. Outside the box. These breaks to the sun seems to leave us more rusty than refreshed

Not great, especially second half but shows how this team has built a reputation that bayern played like prime burnley, timewasting et al

Timewasting is what you get from many of the so called top European times, as well mate - PSG, when they played us were shocking.  I also hate it when commentators praise teams for doing it, calling it 'game management'.  F**king cheating more like.

Frustrating but I think there is a goal or 2 for us in Munich. You just the feeling unless we score a goal or two early we struggle...2019 so far as whole has been a struggle..really need to up it on Sunday

Pressure is on Bayern now.. 1 goal from us and they know the tie becomes more difficult..

Now we have our leave games coming we will see a different performance from tonight..

A very frustrating 2nd half to watch with our play progressively deteriorating as the game wore on, not helped by TAA and Robbo putting in their poorest displays all season - there you go Robertson can put in a poor performance!

No rhythm between the front 3, with misplaced final passes or taking the wrong option.

These 10 day breaks are a complete fallacy for us as we always play like complete strangers first game back, but that’s the downside of getting knocked out of Cup Competitions so early.

I still think we are in the driving seat to go through as they will be wary of conceding an away goal, just need to look at their full backs in this game they didn’t leave their own half, Kovac just wanted to kill the game.
Same won’t happen in the away leg they will have to come out and play and let’s be honest if they try and play football they are not great defensively, Ajax put 3 past these and Augsburg scored 2 just last week.

Hopefully the boys got this sh*t show out of the way for Sunday.

Donny..if you think we should be playing like that week week out then there's little I can do for you..
      Thank you for explaining... ;D
But yes I think, sorry I believe we should be playing with this amount of effort every week/match

And your offer of help is appreciated  ;)

Yeah Hendo as a MOTM is a very fair shout, I just went for Fabinho in the end taking into consideration that he was playing out of position with a CB partner that isn't exactly our best. But both played really well together, I was quite impressed.

YEah, wouldn't argue against Fabinho as MOTM, he had a few key defensive moments, with 1 being that 6 yard tackle vs Lewandowski !!

Mate we haven't taken a decent corner since 1977...when Tommy Smith scored with a header..

I would rather see us give it back to the goalie and start again we cant get it past the first man and if it does it goes over everyman and out for a throw in.

It was a tale of 2 halves. First half was tailor made for Hendo's athleticism with the game being open, but 2nd half, Bayern weren't as attack minded which showed the limitations of Hendo and how important Fabinho is in midfield against organised teams.

Overall, I thought Hendo played well, and his first half performance was the reason he was my MOTM.

Harsh yellow for Hendo. Just caught Martinez’ boot as he was running, no intent of a foul at all, no need to book him there IMO. Saying that, Martinez seemed to complain about something every 5 minutes.

Mane is a good player but misses so many chances. Allison I wish would just get rid of it instead of dwelling on the ball. Anyway hopefully by Sunday we're back in the groove

I can understand why Salah would be taking corners..?

Surely you would wants someone with his goal scoring abilities in and around the box ready to pounce a lose ball

I don't care who takes the corners or free kicks, the only thing I ask is they beat the first man, that's not much to ask for a professional footballer & to do it consistently

      Henderson my MOTM.

Though Matip played well, as did Gini, Milner, and Firmino.

Actually, big shout out to Firmino who by all accounts was unwell before the game, but you wouldn't have known it by the shift he put in. Played as well as in any of his good games.

Yeah, lot of times they got the tackle in after a guys made the 1st touch and looked for the 2nd.
Maybe would've been good to hit more first time, but easy to say sitting here with a keyboard in front of me...

Yeah, we need to look for the ball in behind more, which needs the run in behind.

Let’s not forget, they have no Kimmich in the 2nd leg, another thing in our favour. Meanwhile we have Vigirl back from his ban.

So we didn’t score. We certainly had the better chances. They will not be so defensive at home and we will score I’m sure. We’ll also be stronger in defence. Even though Fab was marvellous.
It’s not over that’s for sure. I’m more confident of scoring there, than I was of keeping a clean sheet tonight, although I didn’t really think they’d sit back as much as they did.
So into the Mancs. They will play similar to Bayern so hopefully we’ve learnt something tonight.

Ha!! go you... We had Charlie Adams, the man that SAF said that his corner alone was worth the money we paid for him   :f_tongueincheek:

Not worried we’ll score over there,Bayern will have to come out of their shell? They got what they wanted tonight in spades

Intense game against a talented, obdurate and ultimately downright cynical team.

      I’m content with 0-0.

Could and should have been better but 3 weeks is a long time for our boys to get back to fitness and sharpness.

Bayern are still getting pumped ;)
