I just really hope they can figure what’s up, because I’m very careful with sounds so can’t see it being noise damage, I’m 29 and never been to a gig, concert or even a night club, I don’t wear in ear headphones or listen to music when I’m out and about and my tv is never over 15%... but the fact I have physical symptoms gives me hope there is something going on in there that can be sorted, and at least reduce it.

Hope you get sorted.  It could obviously be all sorts of things like a response to a cold or viral infection.  Think it can even sometimes be linked to an infection in a tooth.  All the liquids and tubes and air pressure around the ears are like a road map!  No doubt that struggling to sleep makes stuff like this worse - hope you've found something in the meantime to at least help you get some proper rest!

Today was horrendous. Probably the worst I've had since Dad passed away back in November 2019. Think it might be time for me to talk to somebody about this as I'm really not right. It's clear.

On way to work this morning for a meeting and found myself bursting into tears as I was driving to the tunnels booths. Completely out of the blue. Set the tone for the day

Defo go speak to someone, I did a seven week CBT course, and just openly talking to someone about it is actually a great help, I always thought they got paid for feck all honestly, but it works.

      Take care Wahs.

My mental & physical health is why I've been absent for a while. Still not great, but I'm working on it. Going blind in one eye, self-harming, binge eating and the overtime that the absolute sh*t show Brexit has caused.  It's been all work, sleep & pills.

Hang in there Dave, the thing is, you are still in that time frame where it's just going to hit you out of the blue a lot. Lost my old man 25 years ago this past March and I can still remember how the emotions would just hit you sometimes for seemingly no reason. It's natural, and it's ok to feel down about it. I had a lot of ups and downs the first few years afterwards. I will say it gets easier as the time passes. Shoot me a message if you ever need to talk.

      "Feeling Better"?
He hasnt got a headache FFS.
Its been by any measure a terribly stressful year regardless of anyone's age this year has been a c**t of a year. We are slowly coming through it but some of us are yet to feel the full effects that will come when people try to get back to work and return to some form of normality.
we need to find a way to give people hope and in the end that is going to come down to everyone supporting each other.

Mate, so sorry to read this. I was in the same boat about six months ago and then my dad died.  Been the hardest time of my life, thankfully I finally admitted it to myself and got help. Help with my mental health and bereavement.  Overall feeling better as a result but still find it hard going at times. Recently found out that my brother's youngest step son has a form of cancer and a fee weeks back my brother basically could take no more and broke down in a work meeting. Feel helpless that I can't really help him. I have been using some mindfulness stuff which is quite useful but there are still days when I feel overwhelmed. My birthday was fine until late in the evening and I just started crying.  I contacted a helpline that was text only as I was too upset to talk. Please reach out to people,  whether it's me or a professional

Hope you are all doing good fellow reds!

Been a rough couple of years personally, two years ago my uncle passed away during Ramadan, a holy month for my family as my dad is Muslim and then last Ramadan my nan (who was like a third parent) passed away and now again during Ramadan my brother has had a CT scan come back with scaring on his lung and we hear the verdict from the specialist next week, my brother is adamant he has some sort of lung disease.

I am struggling to keep on top of everything as I suffer from a Functional Neurological Disorder which essentially means when I come under bouts of stress I get pains and muscle spasms in the body. With the potential diagnosis of my brother falling on the same week of nan passing the year before worry is starting to overcome me, I just hope it's not as serious as he thinks. He suffers from shortness of breath, tightness in his chest and on occasion coughs up blood, but he is only 27, surely it can't be a lung disease at that age.

Anyways, I just wanted to get this all of my chest, I hope those who have lost loved ones take comfort in looking back and reflecting on the good times and how much love was hopefully shared with said loved ones, I try to remind my mum of that as much as possible when she has her down days about her late mum, I just hope I have more time with my brother.

      Thank you both.

Turns out the specialist is on annual leave so will be another week of waiting.

My brother seems to be doing less Google searching this week and had some positive words of encouragement from friends of friends who are in the medical world so that's good.

      Just a waiting game now.

We need to talk more openly about mental health. We need to stop telling men and boys they can't cry. We need to stop using phrases like man up, what are you a man or a mouse?, etc.
