Under Koeman, Martinez, Allardyce, Moyes etc, their tactics were basically just to kick lumps out of us. It's bollocks to say this hasn't been the case for 20 years.

Under Silva in the last game, I thought they played unusually clean. Hopefully that welcome change of approach continues. But yeah, injuries are usually more of a worry against Everton than the points.

Origi up front please. He should be full of confidence. No need to risk Bobby.

It helps make the game cleaner when Barkleyā€™s no longer there. He was brutal in some of those games.

Being at home Iā€™d be surprised if Silva chooses to bunker up, to be honest.

Weather forecast of gale force winds and heavy rain. Not going to be pretty at the looks of it.

3 pts any which way will do.

Steven Gerrard: PL 100 Club was just on sky - got me pumped for Sunday. He scored so many goals against these cu*ts, you can see how much it meant to him every time. What a player.

Just watched it aswell a few mins ago too :) , he was some ball striker. Didn't even include his European goals. For some reason that near post header against Everton at home from a Luis corner sticks with me, dunno why. And Skrtel with the headband. Seems an age ago.

They play a 4-2-3-1 typically. Think it'll be a Fab-Hendo double pivot to deal with Gylfi and Richarlison with Gini (or could be Keita) given a slightly advanced role on Walcott's flank.

                Bobby
          Mane         Salah
        Gini
                  Fab     Hendo
      Robbo                   Trent
               Virgil Matip
                 Alisson

Subs: Migs, Camacho, Milner, Lallana, Keita, Shaqiri, Origi

I don't think it has ever been a friendly derby, even when we played them in the old Liverpool and Lancashire senior Cups it was never friendly. You would have to go back to pre 1892 for a friendly atmosphere.

Itā€™s a derby, we could be coming into this game with 10 wins in a row, and them 10 losses in a row, throw form out of the window, THIS IS EFC biggest game / home game of the season. They would absolutely love to win this game and possibly dethrone our title chances, for them taking 3 points away from us would be their  ā€œtrebleā€ . Everyone needs to play to there best, as they will come out of the gate hot and heavy. Itā€™s going to be another tough test for us again.

.I didn't say a thing about throwing games, and I think tackling being more intense or reckless in a Derby match isn't so far-fetched, is it?

The tackle put on Origi by Moi, was that 20 years ago?

Perhaps I should have said I don't fear losing this match, just someone being injured
Your right to be concerned mate, derby games are hard fought affairs, everything played at 110% with no quarter given, and in a environment like that tempers flare, and players lose their heads; and  injuries become  a very real possibility

Iā€™ve got family who are Bitters. A couple are so incensed with hatred for us, they canā€™t bring themselves to say ā€˜Liverpoolā€™ even though they were born and brought up in the city. So so strange. The anger, venum and aggression they exude when I get in conversation with them is scary. Never anything physical, but I sometimes fear for their sanity !
Me, I donā€™t really have an issue with them as itā€™s been sooooooo long since theyā€™ve been a threat to us.
As was said earlier, play the game and not the occasion and we batter them. Not expecting any favours from Atkinson, but hope weā€™re talking about the game afterwards and not him !
      COYM RED MEN. 0-3

It's scary. I always say supporting a football club is like supporting a cult and it probably has a stronger attraction than many things in life. Like the good old days, my dad, he was gone long ago, he supported MU but me LFC for life and whoever lost would put on a sour face towards the other party but we make up after a few days. Luckily there weren't any live tv coverage back then.
