I burnt my toast this morning and one of my socks is missing. All down to Liverpool being down a point.

:lmao: I'd like to add one suggestion to sort those unhappy souls out (not you). Can't see us winning the league? Head down M62 for a new home at the Etihad.

Just noticed this from Jürgen's post match comments: "So you make a big fuss when we score five and we are the best attacking side in the world, then we scored nil and we have an offensive problem. Today for me it was Mo Salah was the best player on the pitch and he did not score. I'm not sure you will see that in a lot of ratings, because he's a striker and didn't so you make of it what you want. But we have no problem with confidence. We are in a good moment."

He was talking about the press, but man does it apply to us on here

Hmm so Jürgen must be happy with Mo dithering on the ball, not passing it to the right person, for example the second Bobby goal was fairly lucky but should have been a simple pass to Sadio, and having a poor first touch in general, if he is saying the same behind closed doors then I'd be quite worried.
Bottom line Mo is a SUPERB player but he is not 100% at the moment

Klopp is clearly covering. Doing that thing where a Manager will paint a perfect picture of a poor situation.

No way was Salah the best player on the pitch, so a total exaggeration there by Klopp and he's not even trying to hide it by being subtle. Could have said that Salah had a good game, and he could have got away with it.. but saying that Salah was "Best player on the pitch".. nah Klopp, we know you're not serious.

He was slow on the ball to the point of being wasteful. He hasn't scored much from open play of late. He's out of form, but needs to be given chances as you just know one day it will click again.

That said, we shouldn't just ignore poor performances and allow it to continue as if these guys are guaranteed their places. Salah should have been subbed, but was given the full game. Doesn't send out the right message. Similar with Firmino who was on a poor run and was largely played full matches regardless.

Haven’t been on since the game. Only managed to listen to the first half on 5 live.
Shock, disbelief, close to meltdown, then relief, and thereafter, never in doubt.
Watched motd and from that showing...... Lallana, round and round in circles, no end product, too lightweight, not good enough for this squad ! Well that was my perception of him until Sunday. Clearly motm, and all I can say to add to that is, why can’t he put that effort in every time he plays.
Never thought much of Hendo, but he’s put a few good performances in of late, let’s hope they can both continue to produce this form for the rest of the season.
As for the ref missing the foul on Alison. He needs suspending or dropping to div 2. Either a cheat, or a complete n*b !
3 points and onwards to the next one.

It is without question the agenda driving nearly all of your posts, and certainly this one.

"Poor situation" is a rather astonishing takeaway. Takes some serious mental gymnastics, honestly.

Yes, Jürgen is saying something in the press he doesn't truly believe. He must be because....he is disagreeing with you.

Well isn't having some luck what we've all been crying out for?

It wasn't great by Mo in either situation but ultimately we still scored in the 2 situations and if we hadn't of done then there's a good chance we'd have had 2 penalties anyway.

We scored, we won and Mo dithering didn't cost us in anyway. At this stage, I couldn't care less who dithers on the ball, gets tackled, misses a great chance, plays a blinder or fires one into the top corner from 30 yards just so long as we get all 24 points left up for grabs.

Right, so my comments about Salah having a poor game were due to a Sturridge agenda?  :lmao: pathetic reasoning.

What about other guys who have posted similar? What is their hidden agenda?

They didn't try to refute what Klopp said, so I didn't respond to them (save one other who did). You do have a fair point that wanting to see Sturridge in isn't necessarily the reason you are saying this about Salah and Firmino not being kept in the side, but given your posting history and the hypothetical result of Jürgen adopting your position that these forwards should be dropped, it's a reasonable suspicion.

But if you won't take his direct words to the contrary, there's not much point to our discussing it (other than a chance for you to roll out the pejoratives).

I disagree with Klopp as most would. There is no way that Klopp was being serious, as there is no way that Salah was the best player on the pitch.

Our forum gave him only 4.3% of the MOTM vote.

I'd be surprised if any poll or report considered him to be our best player in that match.

Salah had a good game against Burnley, end of story.

Trying to say he was poor, is much, much worse than saying he was the best.

Pissed it in the end, funny how tho the commntators say we were nervy cos Burnley got a late goal yet Watford done the same V City but they won comfortably,  once again the pro-Manc media bias shines through,  only difference is its light blue and not red!!

      YNWA

We were playing against a manc team in this game, remember. Obviously the media were biased against us. They all believe the myth that City are the goat, and don't want the myth they created, challenged.

      Quote from CT_LFC
First Burnley goal was a foul and glad Alisson let the refs know it even if he got a yellow out of it. That type of incompetence cannot be tolerated but we didn't tighten up and instead took it to them being by far the better team. Front 3 were fantastic, Hendo came on and delivered a great 25 minutes and Keita looked good coming in as well. My guess is he starts in Munich on Wednesday and this was just a warm up to get some of the rust off.

Overall a great game particularly in such awful playing conditions. Looked like hell being out there in the rain, hail and wind.

Not as bad as the away game tbh. The interview zone of that shoebox they call a football "ground" steamed up after the game then.

Second time they've scored from a corner against us this season and the second time Alisson was fouled in the process. They really are a horrible dirty team to play against. Their style of football belongs in Division 4, where they were 30 years ago.

      Quote from barney73
Yes but that's in bygone age. Since 2006sum13 seasons ago we have only won a league cup which hardly counts as a serious competition anymore. We need silverware. I think if we get the monkey off our back more will follow quickly. I hope fifa get tough on city too and Dock them. Points if there found guilty. Or will they be let off with slap on wrists ie fine that they laugh atand mean nothing,

If they listen to you, we'll win nothing.

FIFA have no authority to dock City any points. The FA won't either. UEFA may give them Brexit, after a (very) lengthy appeals process.

      Quote from PolarBearRed
I'm not mad or anything. Just went from 9 points clear to trailing city by a point.

The 9 point lead lasted 20 hours, not even a full day. Blink and you missed it.

We're now in a position to go 2 points clear next weekend. It's not something to crow about, nor make it a one-horse race. We still need a break from elsewhere, but it's better to be 2 points ahead than 2 points behind. We only need to be 1 ahead after the Wolves game.

      Quote from German_Panzer
I don't see Keita improving, not at all. He started well, then regressed, then stopped his regression recently, but still not remotely the force we all envisioned. If he didn't get it up to now - a full season - he won't get it. Cut the losses early and re-sell Keita and try Fekir.

We paid top dollar for him, and a premium on top of that. We're not selling him just yet. Rafa might throw expensive players out the door after 6-12 months, but that is not Jürgen's way. It took him 3 years just to see Markovic off, while Migs and Moreno are still around, so we're not selling Keita anytime soon. Fabinho was useless 6 months ago, now he's essential. Jürgen has the patience of job, some of us need to find it as well.

      Quote from CT_LFC
Agree. Chelsea appears to have reorganized pretty well after the Kepa fiasco.

The Chelsea game is on Anniversary Weekend, and 10 years on from the 4-4 draw in the European Cup. Unlike then, go ahead this year and they'll probably fold up their tent as they did against City. This isn't our League Cup team facing them.

We're finished with the manc teams this season with 3 wins, 2 draws, and 11 points from the 6 league games. Next week, we go to London for the final time this season, and we know what the reward for winning is.

We now have 73 points, 8 games earlier than last year, and 7 games earlier than the year before.

We now have 68 goals, 5 games earlier than the 2009 challenge.

We now have scored 17 goals in 5 home games in 2019, an average of 4+ per game, and 31 goals in the last 10 home league games, winning 9 of them.

Win the next game and we're back on our perch.

Some people will complain that we coulda/woulda/shoulda done more. But we've taken 73 points to date from 90. If we didn't have the Sheikhs on the Take against us, we would be 12 points clear by now, and we could name the date for the title to come home.
