I think having a balanced midfield is not only more productive, but defensively just as strong as you gain control of the middle better.

Would love to see either, 2 DM & 1 AM or 1 DM , 1 Boxer & AM.
Same, we can't be overly conservative or we'll be defending 90 minutes and go out. I don't think Klopp is that daft and he'll go with Lallana in the mid, especially since he surprised us last Sunday with a good performance.

After the first leg, my initial thought was that 0-0 at home is a poor result, but as the game draws closer I'm starting to feel better about it... if we get the first goal, pressure is massively on them and we are counter-attack kings  :f_whistle:.

Hey, even if we don't get the first goal, the pressure is still on them as a draw sends us through.

We really are in a pretty good place with this tie, especially when you consider we didn't have Virgil for the first leg. I actually feel much better about our chances against Bayern than I have against some of our lesser opponents as of late. Bayern will have to play football, they won't want to invite wave upon wave of pressure from us so that will play into our hands. Their ego will be too big at home to allow them to park the bus the whole game.

Heard Naby didn't train with the squad today. Very disappointing.

Expect a midfield three of Hendo, Fab, Wijnaldum/Milner. Was Gini knackered in the last game? He looked it.

A scoreless draw sends us to extra time and PKs if needed, correct? any score draw def puts us through.

0-0 was probably the 2nd best result we could have gotten in the first leg, and agree a goal for us would be huge and really force them to open up.
At the risk of sounding pedantic, 2-0 & 3-0 wins are 2 better results than 0-0, as is ANY victory   ;D

      NB: Team no longer available

Our attack is fluid and I'm happy about it. Keita is sure out of this because he is a little injured. I would play Lallana because he played his ass off last Sunday!

That's the way I understand it. I don't think we will not score for a second game though, I fancy us to score at least a couple.

I noticed this too!! Thought he had a good game and was surprised he was subbed off so early, but I assume it was more for Bayern match.

Would love to see him start more centrally with a double pivot behind him instead of on the right!

Makes me wonder if the reason we’ve seen so little of Keita recently is because he’s been carrying a slight knock, then aggravated it when he came on vs Burnley.

Deffo - he’ll come good, I’m 100% convinced on this

Hence why i said a 0-0 draw is the 2nd best result  :)

A win, of any kind, is the best result, but after that 0-0 is the next best thing, better than any score draw and certainly a loss.

if we want to prove we are a really good team we need to go there play well and at least put Bayern under pressure. I think the current status of the tie really suits us and I can see Mo relishing this game

      Me too.

I've kind of overlooked the European Cup this season and missed the first leg but will get to see the game tomorrow night.

Normally I'd say that full focus on the league is of most benefit but I do feel a run in Europe will only spur this side on to keep winning.

Dissapointed to hear Keita is out but in truth he has barely had a look in recently and I wasn't expecting him to get a start tomorrow night. I wonder if Lallana has earned himself a start after the weekend? The worry is that we field a very conservative midfield three and as a result do not create enough. My midfield 3 would be Fab, Wjinaldum and Milner. the rest of the team picks itself. Great to hear Trent is fit for this one.
