Anfield waiting to conquer all of Europe

      https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldWrap/status/1115672154517966849

Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Milner, Fabinho, Henderson, Keita, Salah, Mane, Firmino.

Subs: Mignolet, Wijnaldum, Gomez, Sturridge, Shaqiri, Origi, Matip.

Dejan Lovren starts in defence as Liverpool make three changes for the Champions League clash with FC Porto tonight.

The centre-back is named in Jürgen Klopp’s XI for the first time since January 7 for the opening leg of the quarter-final tie at Anfield, with Joel Matip among the substitutes – along with Joe Gomez, who returns to the matchday squad after recovering from injury.

Jordan Henderson and James Milner are also restored to the line-up, replacing Georginio Wijnaldum and the suspended Andy Robertson.

HOw good has James Milner been for us now. Whenever we need someone to fill in he justs slips in there under the radar and does his job.
I wonder if Henderson will be allowed to press forward more but this game should be easier to control .

Lovren playing is a risk if you'd ask me.

Moreno is out for sure! I like Lovren with VVD better (Not saying that Matip played wrongly). We need to win without conceding a goal!

Why are people complaining about Lovren, he’s the best centre-back in world football.

Gini rested for Sunday along with Matip ? both played a lot of games. Still good for Lovren to get game time we need every single player desperate for the shirt.

Decent side that. Be good to see what Fab and Keita perform like with Hendo in stead of Gini. I also think Lovren is in for rotation/resting with Chelsea in mind. Hasn’t played for a while so hope he’s up to speed. Klopp would be sure.
So Fab sitting deep, Keita driving on and Hendo everywhere. Back four as is with Millie on the left, and front Three of Mane, Bob and hat trick Mo

Happy with the midfield, chuffed to bits to see Gonez back in the squad and I’ve got no problems with Lovren being back in the team. Matip has been a bit shaky in recent games so the change is not s bad one. Really looking forward to watching this one!

Safe to say Moreno is finished.

      Good riddance.

They will obviously park the bus so just need to be patient and not force it.

I’m really happy with that line up. Great to see Gomez back in the squad. Hopefully he can get some minutes in. His partnership with Van Dijk was the best in the world before his injury.
