Pre-Match: Liverpool v Huddersfield Friday 26th April 20:00 Kick Off
      Apr 22, 2019 07:11:32 pm
Game 36, against basement side Huddersfield.

We play Barcelona 5 days after this, so I can see us going with a strong side, with a few changes to the usual line up, then getting Bobby, Salah and Mane off for a rest.

If nothing changes we will have a fully fit squad to choose from, I can see this team playing:

      Alisson

      Gomez
      Lovren
      Van Dijk
      Robertson

      Wijnaldum
      Fabinho
      Milner (c)

      Salah
      Firmino
      Mane

      Subs:

      Mignolet
      Alexander-Arnold
      Matip
      Henderson
      Keita
      Shaqiri
      Origi

Can see us winning this 4-0, possibly by more.

This is our last chance I would say to try and bridge the goal difference gap too.

Say City draw with United or win or lose by 1 then there's an oppertunity here to really bridge that gap. It could be very important really.

Realistically we are a few goals down on where we would need to be but a huge win would change that.

Of course any win is the priority.

I would be very surprised if it came down to being decided by GD.

At least 4-0 at a canter! Salah hat trick.

Forget about the goal difference. Title's going to be decided on points.

Think I would be tempted to start Shaqiri over Milner, and TAA over Gomez.... Shaqiri I would give game time to should we need to call on him in the next couple of games or so... Gomez we  should continue in this game to ease him back in, give him 60 mins or so

I think we should start with our strongest (and fittest) 11 grab a few early goals and then we can thinking about bringing on the subs.I think you can guarantee that Huddersfield will pack their defense hence the need for the early goals.Go the REDS.

Yes they will bunker in. That's why I'd like to see Keita in the starting XI, making runs behind the lines. I know a lot of people love Shaquiri but there is no remote  hint that Klopp is about to pick him in the starting  XI after so many games on the bench.

Also, regarding the goal difference, if we go up 2-0 in the 2nd half we won't be going all out for more goals, but will secure the win, maybe even be a little boring.

I also think Matip stays in the team. Gomez is probably a sub until next preseason.

Hope he starts at CB. Matip coming out of the line to press Suarez/Messi/anyone is enough to put me in an early grave.

      Alisson

      TAA/Gomez
      Gomez/Matip
      Gomez/Dejan
      Robertson

      Henderson
      Gini
      Keita

      Salah
      Firmino
      Origi

FWIW i think VVD will start with Joe at RB and Matip in the middle. Can see Mane being rested and Keita to start before being benched for the Barca game where Milly comes in. Too early for Fab to play this week i would assume after the bump to the head last game.

Should really be winning this one with aplomb. 3 points and no injuries is all i ask, though.

      NB: Team no longer available

If Fabinho is full fit, I would play him! But I think that Klopp would leave him for Barca. I would play Keita instead if not.

Give TAA and Robbo the night off

No point in risking Fabinho either

Maybe a cheeky Shaq or Lallana appearance in midfield

Win the game, get some subs on after 60 mins, and ride out the win

I would possibly rest Robertson and give Moreno a rare run out but other than that I'd go for as strong a team as possible, get some early goals then rest players.
Its very important to keep the momentum going before the Barca game, imagine entering that game on the back of a huge 4-5 goal win.

No resting for me, full strength for 'uddersfield, only debate if fab isn't available then same starting line up as cardiff

Think the title will be decided on points myself but there is absolutely a case for trying to close the GD they have over us which stands at the moment 59 v 65 respectively so not a great deal in it at all.

Strongest possible X1 to start and once we are 6 up at ht, we can bring off Alison, stick wee Shaq in goal and we’d still win at a canter, Hudds, are utter gash and are already wearing the flip-flops, Seriously,....

                                                          Alisson
                                         Trent.  Matip   VvD. Robertson
                                                        Fabinho
                                                Gini                 Keita
                                            Salah.     Bobby.    Mane

Be up by 2 or 3 by ht, then we can start thinking about resting one or three, I’d be inclined to rest the big fella, with Gomez beside Matip, Shaqiri in for Salah, Divock on for Mane or give Sturridge his farewell  appearance, might leave that one until Wolves, but anyhoo, first priority is 3 points but a six nil trouncing would be most welcome,
We’re all hoping of course that our friends at the end of the East Lancs Rd will sh*t in their noisy neighbours kettle on Wednesday and everything from there on in will be a formality, we do of course have a wee tricky trip up to Geordie land to swipe off the barcodes and perhaps Rafa having secured prem football for next term will field the under 18’s and the tea ladies.
